Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ In collaboration with the Project Coordinator and the Logistics Coordinator, planning, elaborating and reviewing the annual budget for the Environmental Health activities in order to identify and give a response to the needs of the mission and the targeted population;
∎ Monitoring on a day-to-day basis the implementation of the Environmental Health activities in the project ensuring compliance of MSF standards, protocols and procedures, and reporting to the Project Coordinator on the development of the ongoing programs including the following:
∎ Designing, implementing and managing all Environmental Health interventions in the project. (including, but not limited to: water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, hygiene, and infection control;
∎ Conducting routine Environmental Health assessments in collaboration with project medical teams to identify Environmental Health needs at project level and making recommendations for response activities to the line manager (e.g. Project/Field Coordinator, Environmental Health Coordinator/Referent/Focal Point). Ensuring the Environmental Health contribution to the development and planning of emergency response strategies and resources, in collaboration with the medical and logistical teams;
∎ Ensuring availability, proper purchasing, and appropriate technical specifications of required materials and equipment through planning, organizing and overseeing the inventory of the Environmental Health stock.
∎ In collaboration with the Project Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator and the HR Coordinator, participating in the planning and implementation of HR associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required to correctly perform all logistics activities pertaining to his area;
∎ Providing technical support to the medical team in identifying possible "risk factors" (e.g. behavioral practices, environmental sources of infection, and transmission routes) and offers solutions for infection control. Actively contributing to the integration of Environmental Health activities in the medical intervention offering project proposals and work plans;
∎ Ensuring proper collection and monitoring of Environmental Health data. Ensuring multidisciplinary data availability. Providing analysis of data and regular reporting of results (as requested by line management).
∎ Guide and exchange with Logistics Coordinator, HQ advisor and WatSan Coordinator on the mission specific Environmental Health objectives and deployments;
∎ Support EH teams in all locations – Camps in Jamtoli (new and old construction), Hakimpara, Outreach;
∎ Organize and follow up on team trainings, SOPs, Basic monitoring tools, context specific background dossiers and special deployments (eg. Scabies intervention or other emergencies);
∎ Interact with other MSF sections EH managers as counter part of common topics and proactively work on intersectional setup possibilities (eg. intersectional waste zone);
∎ Lead on improvement of waste management strategy on intersectional level;
∎ Research, provide design expertise and excute upcoming plans for temporary and permanent waste zones;
∎ Collaborate with authorities in and outside of the camps to achieve the goals of construction projects related to Environmenatl Health;
∎ Collaborate with Construction Manager on EH installations and designs in new JMS of water supply lines (blueline) and underground wastewater network lines (greyline), grease traps, septic tanks construction, DEWATS waste water treatment plant, borehole pipeline connections and wastezone structures;
∎ Give technical guidance to Construction Manager on Water and Sanitation specific works with external contractors;
∎ Implement future plan for maintenance of new JMS and other current project locations on daily WatSan/EH activities;
∎ Collaborate with Logistics Coordinator in organisation of the EH team in the new Jamtoli site;
∎ Manage recruitment (if necessary) and train staff to set up the new site according to MSF standards
∎ Liaise with (MSF- Holland) WatSan Co on common topics such as hazardous waste management, market assessments for insecticide, chlorine and others;
∎ Represent MSF Jamtoli project at WASH cluster meetings and build a strong connection for collaboration.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
∎ English and Bengali languages are essential.
∎ Knowledge of Chittagonian/ Rohingya dialect will be an added advantage.
∎ Hands on field emergency WHS professional experience in a humanitarian or international development setting.
∎ Desirable: experience in or familiar with implementing and promoting the use of two or more of the following activities (water supply, excreta disposal, waste and waste water management, vector control, and dead bodies management) in two or more different contexts (conflicts, natural disasters, refugee/IDP camps, etc.)
∎ Desirable: public health experience.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 117100 (Monthly)
∎ Salary is not negotiable. The mentioned amount of salary is before income tax deduction and without seniority.
