∎ Essential Literacy, class 8 passed. (JSC)
∎ Essential 1 year of work experience in Water and Sanitation activities (Watsan).
∎ Desirable 6 months Previous MSF work experience
∎ Desirable 6 months’ Work experience in IPC (Infection Prevention Control).

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ • Performing the Watsan day-to-day activities such as collecting and sorting wastes before disposal, keeping the incinerator in good working order, ensuring the cleaning and correct hygiene status of the latrines, cleaning the water storage and treatment tanks, etc.
∎ • Knowing and applying security and hygiene standards regarding the operation of WHS infrastructure, taking care of his/her own safety.
∎ • Informing the line manager and/or technical adviser of any incidents that might compromise his/her (or that of others) safety or security.
∎ • Ensuring the availability and correct usage of all material and equipment.
∎ Vector Control
∎ • Maintaining vegetation trimmed and eliminating stagnant water in the premises and surroundings/Drainage cleanig/Overall outdoor cleaning
∎ • Maintaining site free of vectors
∎ • Yearly 2 times IRS spraying in the facility
∎ • Sweeping and mopping of all pathways and waiting areas in the hospital
∎ • Cleaning and disinfecting of all toilets outside the medical structures (wards)
∎ Waste management
∎ • Collecting all waste bins located outside the medical facility transport to the waste area (organic, soft, and sharps waste).
∎ • Disposing of medical waste according to MSF protocols
∎ • Operating incinerator according to the specific procedure to optimize combustion and minimize smoke disturbance
∎ • Cleaning and disinfecting empty waste bins, maintaining the waste area clean and clear of rubbish and vector.
∎ • Reporting to the supervisor any arising problem, damage and/or incorrect waste segregation.
∎ • Systematically recording waste production data every day and submitting the document to the line manager at the end of the month.
∎ Water and wastewater management
∎ • Providing chlorinated water to the hospital network
∎ • Allowing wastewater treatment prior to final disposal
∎ • Maintaining water systems clean (grease traps, manholes, fresh water tanks, roof gutters) functioning and free of leaking.
∎ Others
∎ • If workload allows, implementing other tasks upon request of Supervisor (gardening, load unloading materials)
∎ Wearing all relevant PPE according to the task.
