• Essential Bachelor in Science of Nursing/ BNMC registration/Training in Government Hospital is essential.
• ALS/BLS preferred
• 2 years working experience as Nurse
• Desirable 1 years of previous experience in other NGO’s
• Desirable experience in ambulance patient transfer or mobile medical team.
• Local language essential, Chittagonian language preferred.

• Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.
• Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
• Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their feeding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort. Carrying out first aid care and referring them to the doctor when necessary.
• Carrying out admission, monitoring and follow-up of patients (i.e. assessment, and early identification of deterioration and actively responds according to MSF standards.
• Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed.
• Carry out transfer of patient from diferrent referral facilites, ensure proper care of patient during transfer, monitoring of patient’s status and manage any emergency situation.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
• The focus of this position is on patients that are referred to Partner Facilities:
• This position requires a high level of flexibility and stamina. It is demanding and requires a strong attitude toward providing quality patient care. The referral nurse should be energetic, compassionate, and motivated, able to manage difficult situations while remaining calm and adaptable to support the team. The role also requires undertaking ambulance transfers for several hours each day.
Care and Treatment
• Receive patients referred in different sites and help them to get OPD consultation,help on admissions in desinated ward, orient patients about the facilities, services proving from the referal hospital according to MSF policy.
• Ensure that MSF referrals patients receive necessary quality care, ensure MSF patients are seen by the referral hospital consultant, ensure proper treatment and as well as making follow up on the patients during their stay at referral facilites. RN must be present at hospital during consultatnt visit and while any surgical procedure will be performed.
• Organize pharmacy requests based on treatment sheet and collect medicines, organise blood, medical & surgical material as per MOU / policy.
• Notify the line managers about the use of external facilities (private laboratories and pharamcies) with which MSF does not have specific MoUs, for the purpose of prior approval/accountablity.
• Provide Food cost as per policy.
• Follow up on quality of care and treatment of the referred patients, adequate quantity and quality of of medicines, monitor unnecesaary and duplication of investigations.
• Ensure that MSF as well as the referral partners follow the activities as agreed on in our MOU’s.
Administration
• Complete all paper work regarding the advance money and expenses for each individual patients correctly and complete daily according to policy.
• Cross check and authorized all individual medicines bills at pharmacy, investigations bills, hospital bills daily and correct with the respective facility before handing them in to the Cox’s Bazar Office.
• Handling of all filled payment overview sheets covering the advances taken to Cox’s Bazar Office, who will re check and send it to finace department of cox’s Bazar Coordination.
• Documention and notify the patient arrival date and time at referral site with properly filled referral form, attendant, blood donor when required,status of patient clinical status and about appointment for follow up.
• With the support from Medical coordinator Support/ Nursing Team Supervisor, remind the management of the referral facilities of any devaition from the MoUs, (e.g. incorrect charges in the invoices, refusal of refferals,too many fruther referral despite responsibilities otulined in the MoUs) etc..
Patient transfer:
• Assess and prepare patients for referral, ensuring clinical stability prior to transfer in coordination with the referring clinician.
• Organise and accompany patient transfers by ambulance, ensuring continuity of care from sending to receiving facility.
• Monitor patients during transport, including vital signs, level of consciousness, and response to treatment, and intervene as required within scope of practice.
• Administer medications and fluids during transfer as prescribed, including oxygen therapy and emergency interventions.
• Ensure proper handover at receiving facilities, providing clear verbal and written clinical information to receiving teams.
• Maintain infection prevention and control measures during transport, including use of PPE and ambulance cleaning procedures.
• Ensure availability and functionality of transfer equipment, such as oxygen, suction, monitors, emergency drugs, and consumables before departure.
• Document referral details, patient condition, treatments given, and events during transfer according to MSF referral protocols.
• Communicate with PSS/NTS, drivers, and receiving facilities to coordinate timing, route, and readiness.
• Support patients and caregivers emotionally during transfers, explaining procedures and managing anxiety.
• Participate in referral audits and incident reviews to improve safety and quality of transfer care.
Communication/Collaboration
• Informs the line managers Medco Support/NTS of challenges that affect/prevent beneficiaries from accessing servces from identified referal facilities.
• Update the projects teams of the the changes in the admission and exclusion criteria ,holidays or orhers issues of different referal facilities, to avoid sending patinets from one facility to another.
• Works in close collaboration with the other referral nurses.
• Ensure close collaboration with the medical teams ,authorities of the referral facilities.
• Responsible for the management of the assigned caregivers, quality of care and their time sheets, in the respective sites when needed.
• Regular update of referral part 2 online excel sheet and regular bed update.
• Ensure close collaboration with the focal point in Cox’s Bazar Office, and ask for technical support when needed on site.
• Notify the reception and discharge of our patients to KTP PSS.
Permanent Contract. Salary according to level Five (5) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 68500). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff. There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
