Educational Requirements:
∎ Completion of secondary education with post-secondary course/diploma in Civil Engineering/Water and Sanitation Engineering/Water Resources Development or a related field.
∎ Certificates and/or Licenses: Civil Engineering/ Water Engineering/ Hydrology/ Water resource development.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 6 year(s)

Job Context:
∎ Category/grade: LICA-6
∎ Type of contract: UNOPS Local Individual Contractor Agreement
∎ The Effective Date of Assignment: As soon as possible

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience including at least 2 years in water, public health, construction works or other water related field.
∎ Experience in humanitarian and development contexts including in water infrastructure projects; experience working in the UN or other international development organization is preferable
∎ Computer skills (MS Office and AutoCAD).
∎ Fluency in English language (written and oral).
∎ Computer skills (MS office, GIS, ) is required
∎ Excellent oral and written communication and reporting skills in both English and bangla,
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, or organizations, and authorities at different levels is desirable
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of WASH standards for emergencies and refugee camps but also of national standards,
∎ Knowledge and understanding of hydrogeology, water hydraulics and water quality parameters,
∎ Knowledge and understanding of water , sanitation and hygiene cross-cutting related issues,
∎ Knowledge and understanding of risk-based monitoring and evaluation, multi-criteria analysis,
∎ Solid project management and control experience would be an asset.
∎ Work experience with governments and other stakeholders on complex water projects/initiatives will be an asset
∎ Knowledge of Bangla and local language of Chattagram is required.
