Educational Requirements:
∎ Essential:
∎ Four years' bachelor's degree / First level university degree in Public health, Environmental sciences, civil engineering or medicine from a recognized university.
∎ Post-Graduation / master's degree in Public health, Environmental sciences or related field from a recognized university.
∎ Desirable:
∎ Certificate or equivalent professional training, self-study or work experience in health or related fields, preferably in information management.
∎ Proficiency in the use of MS Office, SPSS/STATA and GIS software.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ A. Summary of Assigned Duties:
∎ Under the overall guidance fo the Head of Sub-office (HoSO), WSO-CXB and the direct supervision of Public Health Officer, the incumbent will lead the Water Sanitation and Hygiene portfolio under the Health Operations and Technical Expertise in the camps in close coordination with District Public Health Engineering, WASH Sector, Health Sector and relevant partners.
∎ 1. Work under the Public Health Officer to provide technical expertise for WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), identify priorities, evaluate gaps and develop action plans to support emergency response to the Rohingya camps.
∎ 2. Monitor and report progress on WASH activities within the health facilities in the context of the incident management system.
∎ 3. Coordinate with WASH sector, District Public Health Engineering and UN Agency Country Office for Bangladesh to conduct the Water Quality Surveillance in the Rohingya camps and support the analysis of the data for finalization of the report .
∎ 4. Support comprehensive WASH assessment in health facilities, water quality assessments and propose action plans for improvement.
∎ 5. Provide support to the health partners on WASH, proactively co-design and support the implementation of plans to build up or rehabilitate emergency health facilities.
∎ 6. Provide support for implementation of infection control activities including medical waste management for the health facilities.
∎ 7. Support training and undertake Water and Sanitation for Health Facility Improvement Tool (WASH FIT) in health facilities in compliance with Sphere and UN Agency Standards.
∎ 8. Support with evidence-based planning and decision making process for forecasting the WASH consumables and supplies required for Water Quality Surveillance in 2022 and facilitate the procurement
∎ 9. Document the best practices and lessons drawn during the implementation of WASH activities and disseminate the knowledge in sub-national/national platforms and/or scientific journals.
∎ 10. Participate as a resource person in training/orientation programmes in the related areas for capacity building.
∎ 11. Perform any other related incident-specific duties, as required by the functional supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential:
∎ At least Five years of experience in environmental health including WASH with national or sub national authorities.
∎ Desirable:
∎ At least two years of experience in applying WASH policies, Water and sanitation programming procedures and tools in low resource settings, and outbreaks and or health emergency response.
∎ Experience in UN agency, International Organization, and NGOs etc esp. in an emergency setting;
∎ Working experience in public health/working with health data on WASH/Health Care Waste Management will be a plus;
∎ Working experience in Cox's Bazar district and/or knowledge on information management of the FDMNs/Rohingya refugees will be a plus.
∎ iii. Skills:

∎ Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, discretion and diplomacy;
∎ Ability to effectively work with government, development partners and collaborating agencies;
∎ Ability to collaborate with different institutions, organizations and personalities from the Government, NGO and private sectors, ability to work independently and creatively, willingness to travel;
∎ Ability to work in cross-cultural environment and in a team;
∎ Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power point;
∎ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Salary:
∎ The Candidate selected for this post will get BDT. 79,451/- per month. The selected candidate will be responsible to pay all taxes as per government rules and regulations. E-Zone will make statutory deductions towards income tax as per government rules and regulations.
