Job Context:
∎ Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS) is implementing a project "WASH Assistance for the FDMN Refugee (RR) families in Bhasan Char Island". The project is funded by the Global Affairs Canada with technical support from BRAC.
∎ Job Title: WASH Facilitator
∎ Responsible to: Project Coordinator
∎ Job Location: Bhashan Char, Noakhali
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct needs assessments, verification, and data collection in refugee camps.
∎ Monitor & supervise the construction of the relevant WASH activities in the assigned working area.
∎ Provide necessary guidance to the Hygiene Assistants to run hygiene sessions and other relevant project interventions.
∎ Distribute and follow up the daily work plan among the Hygiene Assistants, volunteers and other relevant project staffs.
∎ Provide technical support with capacity building to volunteers with infrastructure construction/rehabilitation monitoring and follow-up, conduct HA and sensible other sessions/training/orientation with GUSS and progress/ obstacles sharing with line manager.
∎ Supervise distributions, monitor loading and offloading of wash materials and verify materials meet proper specifications.
∎ Suggest new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities.
∎ Provide direction, assigns tasks and give instructions to hygiene assistants/volunteers and monitor the progress with quality of delivery and ensure the implementation according to plan.
∎ Take part in the mobilization of FDMN communities for awareness campaigns and for conducting research using focus group discussions, interviews and questionnaires.
∎ Conduct outreach activities within the clusters and serve as a link between GUSS programs and the local community, ensuring their input into wash & hygiene activities.
∎ Immediately following any field visit, the facilitator produces a field trip report according to a standard format and submits the report to his/her supervisor.
∎ Communicates, coordinates and manages relationships with govt. officials and other relevant stakeholders
∎ Establish excellent relations with beneficiaries including understanding the needs of beneficiaries through regular visits and frequent contact.
∎ Perform any other task as requested by the line manager or senior management as per needs.
∎ Provide necessary report of every WASH facilities constructed, repaired & maintenance in daily basis.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Good knowledge of the refugee context in Bangladesh
∎ Professional fluency in the Bangla language (ability to communicate in the Chittagonian dialect)
∎ Technical educational background with experience and physical experience in the refugee context is highly encouraged to apply.
∎ Knowledge of the Burmese language is an asset
∎ Experience from working in a non-profit organization is an asset
∎ Information management with raw/field data and documentation with final data will be added value to the position.
∎ Knowledge of the software programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Salary: Tk. 30000 (Monthly)
