Job Context:
∎ Handicap International (Humanity & Inclusion) is inviting applications from development professionals, willing to serve as a Warehouse Assistant, Under the direct supervision of Warehouse Officer the Warehouse Assistant will ensure the good management of the storage activities
∎ In response to the massive influx of refugees, HI also set-up an emergency intervention responding to the needs of thousands of refugees. Multi-sectorial mobile teams are currently working in the “mega camp”, providing services in rehabilitation, health, protection and PSS. Because of the extremely vulnerability of certain persons, the mobile intervention helps reaching people forgotten by static activities. HI is also providing kits (shelter, NFI, WaSH, dignity, dry food) through a dedicated team in order to have a more integrated approach and respond to the needs of new arrivals.
∎ Through its brands ATLAS logistics, HI set-up two storages in Ukiya and Teknaf and is facilitating safe and secure transport to support other actors in their intervention. Additional storage capacities at Cox’s Bazar has introduced with ensuring the safe working environment to enhance the capacity of humanitarian actors contributing to the response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
∎ Last, being very concern by the next monsoon season, HI is currently building a strategy of disaster risk reduction in coordination with an already experimented HI team in Dhaka as well as with the other actors in the zone.

∎ Line Manager - Warehouse Officer
Job Responsibilities:
∎ RESPONSIBILITY 1: ENSURING THE PROPER RECEIPT AND DISPATCH OF GOODS
∎ Organize and plan before receiving and clearing goods based on partner requests that have been verified by the Warehouse Officer.
∎ Provide advance instructions to handlers regarding manual loading and unloading operations.
∎ When receiving and releasing goods, ensure the presence of a partner focal point and verify the quality and quantity of the goods.
∎ Preparation of the receipt note and delivery note with relevant comments, and ensure that both parties sign.
∎ RESPONSIBILITY 2: STORAGE AREA MAINTENANCE, SAFETY AND SECURITY
∎ Keep the storage area clean.
∎ Only authorized persons can enter the storage area and users comply with security rules.
∎ At the end of the shift, ensure that all storage areas are secured with locks
∎ Ensure personal protective equipment before handling the cargo.
∎ Immediately inform to line manager in terms of any security information or incidents.
∎ Understand and ensure the application of Atlas HI's internal regulations, procedures and security rules.
∎ RESPONSIBILITY 3: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
∎ Hire daily worker as per instruction and supervise the daily worker.
∎ Follow up daily worker attendance and help Warehouse Officer to maintain daily worker database.
∎ Assist to prepare daily worker payment documents
∎ Prepare the daily worker contract and forward to line manager.
∎ Ensure induction to daily worker on HI rules and code of conducts.
∎ RESPONSIBILITY 4: REPORTING, DOCUMENTATION AND INTERNAL ACTIVITIES
∎ Update day to day activity to line manager
∎ Prepare weekly stock reports in liaison with Warehouse Officer
∎ Assist to conduct training on safety and security, hygiene behaviour, PPE to daily worker
∎ Achieve monthly internal stock inventory and report to line manager
∎ Assist warehouse Officer to maintain operational database
∎ Archive Storage documentations
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 60 years
∎ 1 years’ experience of working in storage sector/Logistics (NGO or private company)
∎ Ability to understand, read and write in English
∎ Ability to Communicate in Chittagonian mandatory
∎ Computer Skill (Excel)
∎ Competence in calculating volumes and loads
∎ Stress-resistant and good organisation and planning skills
∎ Experience in managing team
∎ Experience with NGO and real motivation for humanitarian sector
Salary: Tk. 36864 - 39339 (Monthly)
