Job Purpose: The Specialist, Agriculture (Crop), Agri Solution Hub, Microinsurance is responsible for providing expert guidance on crop production technologies, delivering accurate symptoms based diagnoses and treatment prescriptions, and offering reliable market information to support clients’ agricultural decisions. The role aims to enhance farmer and agribusiness success through strong technical expertise, effective communication, and a commitment to improving agricultural productivity and resilience.
Job Description:
Provide high quality customer support by handling inbound and outbound calls, emails, and chats from farmers and other stakeholders.
Address client inquiries related to crop production, disease management, pest control, and general agronomic practices.
Conduct regular field visits to collect data, diagnose issues, and deliver hands on support to clients and extension officers.
Advise farmers on modern crop production technologies, best practices, and the appropriate use of agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
Offer guidance on soil health management, irrigation systems, and sustainable farming techniques.
Diagnose crop health problems based on reported symptoms and recommend suitable chemical and non chemical treatment plans.
Follow up with clients to assess treatment effectiveness and adjust recommendations when necessary.
Provide market insights and references to help farmers make informed crop marketing and sales decisions.
Support the promotion of agricultural microinsurance products and collaborate with the sales team to identify potential leads.
Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, prepare reports on common issues, and stay updated with emerging agricultural technologies and trends.
Safeguarding responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
