Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from a recognised university/institution.
Additional Job Requirements:
In depth knowledge on common livestock diseases (e.g., PPR, FMD, mastitis), vaccination schedules, deworming protocols, biosecurity, and emergency first aid for cattle, goats, poultry, etc.
Familiarity with feed formulation basics, mineral supplementation, breeding cycles, AI (artificial insemination) basics, and neonatal care.
In depth knowledge correct usage, dosage, and precautions for vaccines, antibiotics, anthelmintics, and supplements; awareness of withdrawal periods.
Knowledge on standard operating procedures for call handling, escalation pathways, documentation standards, and data privacy norms.
Knowledge on government and local regulations on animal health and welfare, BRAC/partner programme linkages (MF, AI, UPG, IDP, CCP), and donor/reporting expectations.
Handle inbound/outbound calls, email, and chat with clarity, empathy, and cultural sensitivity in Bangla/English (and local dialects where possible).
Elicit accurate case histories over phone/messages; identify urgency; recommend basic first-line care and when to refer to a veterinarian.
Conduct structured field visits, collect accurate geo-tagged data, maintain records, and prepare concise summaries for analysis.
Collaborate with field agents, vets, product teams, insurers, and external partners; align actions and close the loop on farmer issues.
Stay abreast of new protocols/products and translate technical concepts into simple, actionable guidance for farmers.
Listens attentively, responds respectfully, and maintains a farmer-first mindset—especially during distress (e.g., disease outbreaks).
Applies structured thinking to incomplete information, prioritizes cases effectively, and makes safe, practical recommendations.
Maintains accurate, timely records of interactions, follow-ups, complaints, and resolutions; ensures data integrity.

Experience Requirements: Minimum 4 years’ experience in the development sector especially in the veterinary service.

This role involves handling inquiries related to animal health, nutrition, breeding, disease prevention, and overall livestock management. The specialist will be expected to deliver accurate, timely, and empathetic responses to customer questions. The position also requires collaboration with other departments to stay up-to-date with new product developments and veterinary best practices.
Job Description:
Receive and handle inbound and outbound calls from livestock farmers and livestock stakeholders. Provide exceptional customer service to clients and staff via phone, email, and chat.
Regular field visit for collecting data and provide hands-on support to both clients and extension officers
Offer accurate, up-to-date information on animal health, disease prevention, nutrition, breeding, and general care.
Respond to farmer inquiries through calls, messages, or emails in a timely, professional, and empathetic manner.
Diagnose animal health issues based on descriptions provided by the farmers, guiding them on basic treatments, preventative care, and appropriate veterinary interventions.
Educate farmers on best practices for livestock management, disease prevention, and seasonal veterinary care requirements.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, complaints, and resolutions for reporting and analysis purposes.
Work closely with field agents, veterinary staff, and other teams to stay informed about new products, health protocols, and on-the-ground challenges faced by farmers.
Collect and report feedback from farmers regarding veterinary products and services, contributing insights to improve service quality.
Stay updated with veterinary science advancements, livestock management practices, and animal welfare regulations.
Maintain strong coordination with Microfinance field operations team, BRAC internal program (e.g., BRAC AI, UPG, IDP, CCP) & external diverse stakeholders (e.g., donors, insurers, regulators, development & financial institutions, technical partners, etc.) and clients.
Safeguarding responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
