Responsibilities & Context:

Project Title: Integrated & Inclusive Rehab Solutions in Bangladesh (IIR-SiB)

Aim of the Project: Enhance access to affordable, quality, and inclusive rehabilitation services for children and youths with disabilities (CYwDs) in rural Bangladesh by integrating rehabilitation into mainstream health systems, expanding community-based solutions, and leveraging innovative service delivery models, enhancing their functional independence, participation, and social inclusion.

Reporting to: Project Coordinator / CBR Officer.

Job Location: The position is based in Parbatipur Upazila of Dinajpur District and with regular travel to upazila and union level for implementation of project activities smoothly.

Job Responsibilities:

Identification and Referral of Children and Youth with Disabilities

  • Conduct community surveys and home visits to identify children, youth and other disabilities to connect with social support, rehabilitation services, and relevant government schemes.

  • Facilitate early identification of disabilities and promote timely intervention measures.

  • Refer identified individuals to appropriate rehabilitation services, including tele-rehabilitation and center-based rehabilitation service.

  • Follow up with referred individuals and their families to ensure access to care and support.

Community Engagement and Awareness

  • Sensitize communities to change perceptions and attitudes toward disability through advocacy and awareness campaigns.

  • Promote inclusion and participation of children with disabilities in schools and community activities.

  • Support households and communities in understanding prevention, early identification, referral, and follow-up for disabilities.

  • Bilateral supervision to community interns in their day-to-day activities in coordination with CBR officer.

Field Implementation and Program Support

  • Facilitate community-level activities such as medical camps, skills training, and awareness sessions and yard meetings.

  • Arrange and coordinate tele-rehabilitation services in coordination with CBR interns.

  • Maintain accurate records and child datasheets, aligned with project standards.

  • Participate in planning, organizing, and reporting of community outreach activities.

Local Collaboration and Resource Mobilization

  • Coordinate with local government authorities, NGOs, and service providers to deliver interventions for CYwDs.

  • Involve persons with disabilities in program activities and decision-making processes.

  • Mobilize local communities to engage in and support CBR initiatives.

Other Duties

  • Perform aligned activities under LF-funded projects as assigned by the Project Coordinator to ensure alignment with project objectives.

  • Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by the project management.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor / Masters’s degree in Social Science, Diploma in Physiotherapy or a related field. Specialized training in CBR or disability inclusion is an advantage.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in working with communities, particularly with children and youth with disabilities, is highly desirable. Basic understanding of disability rights and inclusive development principles.

  • Age: Maximum 45 Years (Age limit will flexible in experienced candidate).
