Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist patients.
∎ Ensure wheelchair/Stretcher support for patients.
∎ Transfer patient file/documents/reports between departments & specimens to laboratory.
∎ Ensure supplies of clean clothing and linen at the ward and OT.
∎ Deliver & collect linen, rubbish, infectious waste, specimens & equipment.
∎ Collect infectious waste, specimens and equipment from the clinical areas.
∎ Help patients with mobility, including moving them to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
∎ Assist patients with basic needs, such as eating, bathing, and dressing, when required.
∎ Transport patients safely to different areas of the floating hospital (e.g., wards, diagnostic labs, OT).
∎ Ensure the cleanliness of ward, wards, and other hospital areas.
∎ Change bed linens, clean beds, and collect waste & manage waste disposal as per Infection Prevention Protocol.
∎ Regularly disinfect high-touch surfaces and ensure a sterile environment.
∎ Ensure adequate supplies of clean clothing and linen at the ward and OT.
∎ Deliver & collect linen, rubbish, infectious waste, specimens & equipment.
∎ Assist nurses and doctors during patient care, physiotherapy, sample collection, x-rays, OT, while performing procedure, including setting up equipment and preparing rooms for procedures.
∎ Fetch medical supplies, medications, or equipment as instructed.
∎ Safely handle and transport documents, specimens, medical equipment, medicines and supplies.
∎ Maintain accurate records of patient movements, supplies, and other assigned tasks.
∎ Communicate effectively with medical staff about patient needs or issues.
∎ Assist in administrative duties such as photocopying documents, maintaining food delivery to patients etc.
∎ Act promptly in emergencies, assisting in evacuation or patient transfer if necessary.
∎ Follow hospital protocols for emergencies at floating hospital, ensuring patient safety at all times.
∎ The own service area will be his or her own responsibility, everything related to patient care will be his or her own duty and accountability to be fulfilled.
∎ Appropriately follow safeguarding policy and organizational code of conducts.
∎ Need to show empathy to the patient.
∎ Deal with every patient respectfully.
∎ Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
∎ SSC/HSC Pass.
∎ Preferably 03 years’ practical experience in a hospital.
∎ Experience in patient care services.
∎ Flexible, highly committed & motivated to work in remote locations, specially in riverine areas.
∎ Good teamwork exposure.
