Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist patients in & out of vehicles.
∎ Ensure wheelchair/Stretcher service for patients where needed.
∎ Lift patient on & off beds, with the assistance of nurse ·
∎ Transfer patient file/documents/reports between departments & specimen to the laboratory.
∎ Assist patients at the ward.
∎ Ensure adequate supplies of clean clothing and linen at the ward and OT.
∎ Deliver & collect linen, rubbish, infectious waste, specimen & equipment.
∎ Collect infectious waste, specimen and equipment.
∎ Assist the ward nurse.
∎ Assist Lab and X-ray room whenever required attending the patient.
∎ Assist in administrative duties such as photocopying documents, maintaining food delivery to patients etc.·
∎ Discuss patients’ needs & inform to concerned nurse.
∎ Attend emergency patient calls, patient transfers in urgent situations.
∎ Need to show empathy to the patient.
∎ Need to explain all the procedures and treatment to the patient.
∎ The service area will be his or her responsibility, everything related to patient care will be his or her duty and accountability to be fulfilled.
