Job Responsibilities:
∎ Boiler Operation: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of steam boilers, ensuring their efficient and safe performance.
∎ Steam Distribution: Monitor and maintain steam distribution systems, including pipelines, valves, traps, and other associated equipment, to ensure uninterrupted steam supply to production areas.
∎ Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on boilers, steam lines, pumps, and other equipment to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards.
∎ Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards related to steam and boiler operations. Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to mitigate potential hazards.
∎ Efficiency Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving steam generation and utilization efficiency, such as implementing energy conservation measures, optimizing boiler performance, and reducing steam losses.
∎ Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and safety inspections. Generate reports on equipment performance, energy consumption, and compliance status as required.
∎ Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as production, maintenance, and quality control, to ensure smooth operation of steam-dependent processes and address any issues promptly.
∎ Training and Supervision: Train and supervise boiler operators and technicians to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills for safe and efficient operation of boilers and associated equipment.
∎ Emergency Response: Develop emergency response procedures for boiler-related incidents and participate in emergency drills. Act quickly and effectively to resolve any boiler emergencies, such as leaks, malfunctions, or pressure fluctuations.
∎ Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with advancements in steam and boiler technology, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 26 to 40 years
∎ Specialized training on steam generation / transmission / distribution
∎ Proven work experience as a steam and boiler engineer, preferably in the apparel or textile industry
∎ In-depth knowledge of steam generation, distribution, and utilization systems
∎ Strong understanding of boiler operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
∎ Familiarity with relevant local and international regulations and codes, such as ASME, NFPA, and Boiler Inspectorate guidelines
∎ Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting steam and boiler malfunctions
∎ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
∎ Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
∎ Strong leadership and supervisory skills
∎ High attention to detail and commitment to safety
∎ Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively
