Experience:
A Master’s degree, preferably in Social Science/Development Studies/Public Health (MPH) or relevant faculties.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project coordination, project cycle management, community development including gender-focused and Climate Change adaptation initiatives, preferably in a rural setting of southwestern coastal zone of Bangladesh.
Proven experience working with civil society and community-based organizations, local government institutions, and community leaders.
Strong understanding of gender issues, social inclusion, and community mobilization strategies.
Familiarity with local governance structures and the socio-economic context of the Upazila.
Must have a valid motorbike driving license and be able to safely operate a motorbike.
Key Skills:
Strong project management and report-writing skills in English/Bangla
Strong communication, facilitation, and training skills.
Excellent - interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
Proficient in story/report writing and documentation.
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Name of Project: Action to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS)

Key Responsibilities:
Project Implementation and Coordination
Upazila Coordinator needs to work closely with the Project Manager and team members to plan the routing of M&E systems wherever the information management and automation process is highly required for efficient project operation.
Oversee daily implementation of project activities in the assigned Upazila, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Regularly track project progress against targets, indicators, and milestones, ensuring timely data collection and documentation.
Prepare and submit progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to ensure accurate and reliable data reporting.
Identify project risks and recommend mitigation strategies in coordination with the team.
Develop detailed activity plans, work schedules, and targets in collaboration with the project team.
Monitor progress, identify challenges, and proactively address issues to ensure timely delivery.
Ensure all activities promote gender equality, community empowerment, and inclusive development.
Frequent travel within the project area to monitor project activities and engage with community stakeholders.
Coordinate with community leaders, CSOs, local government, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and maximize community participation.
Oversee financial administration at the Upazila level, including expense tracking and record-keeping.
Support procurement by managing local vendors and service providers in line with project policies.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation and archives.
Stakeholder Engagement and Community Mobilization
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local government, CSOs, and gender advocates.
Lead community mobilization efforts to encourage active participation, especially from marginalized and vulnerable groups.
Facilitate capacity building for CSOs and community leaders to empower local ownership of climate resilient WASH infrastructure, gender and development initiatives.
Represent the project at public forums, meetings, and events at the Upazila level.
Capacity Building and Technical Support
Organize training and capacity-building sessions for CSOs, community leaders, and beneficiaries on gender equality, community development, and leadership.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field staffs and partners to enhance implementation capacity and program quality.
Ensure all interventions are gender-sensitive and inclusive, addressing the needs of women, youth, and marginalized groups.
Advocacy and Networking
Lead advocacy initiatives at the Upazila level promoting gender equality, leveraging resources for WASH infrastructure operation maintenance for sustainable and inclusive development, and women’s empowerment in decision-making.
Establish and maintain networks with CSOs, local government, media, and development partners to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Support local advocacy campaigns aimed at influencing policy and promoting gender-responsive service delivery.
