Position OverviewAVAS is implementing the “Partnerships for Improved Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) in Coastal Bangladesh” project, funded by Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP) and supported by Concern Worldwide. This initiative aims to improve RMNCAH services in the coastal regions of Bangladesh, particularly in Galachipa sub-district, Patuakhali district. The project duration is up to December 2026. AVAS is seeking a competent and motivated Training, Gender, Equity and Inclusion Officer (TGEIO) to support the implementation of the project focusing on gender equity, inclusivity and transformative interventions in collaboration with the Project Coordinator ensuring that the activities are carried out in alignment with the project’s goals and objectives.
The Training, Gender, Equality, and Inclusion Officer is responsible for building the capacity of project staff and ensuring gender equality and inclusion are integrated into all project activities. This position will assess training needs, develop training materials, and conduct training sessions. It will also focus on fostering gender-sensitive programming and promoting gender inclusivity within project operations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation and Coordination
Develop and implement gender equality and inclusion models within the project.
Assist the Project Coordinator in managing and coordinating overall project activities.
Ensure gender-sensitive programming and development within all project operations.
Promote gender-responsive activities in collaboration with the project team.
2. Capacity Building
Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNA) for project staff and partners.
Develop effective training curricula, modules, and materials for target groups and stakeholders.
Facilitate training sessions independently and outsource facilitators when necessary.
Ensure capacity-building efforts align with the project`s goals and objectives.
Prepare training reports and ensure proper documentation of training sessions.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with project team members, facilitators, and stakeholders, including GO-NGO organizations.
Collaborate with community leaders, government officials, and healthcare providers to promote gender inclusion.
Engage with coastal communities, especially women, to ensure access to health services.
Support the observance of gender-related national and international events with stakeholders.
4. Monitoring and Supervision
Conduct regular field visits to monitor program implementation and identify areas for improvement.
Supervise the execution of training sessions and capacity-building activities.
Track progress on gender equality and inclusion initiatives and provide feedback to the Project Coordinator.
Identify gaps in project activities and suggest corrective actions.
5. Advocacy and Liaison
Advocate for gender inclusion in project activities by influencing government, private sector, and local communities.
Maintain liaison with key government health offices and local authorities to ensure the successful implementation of project goals.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to foster gender-responsive environments in health facilities.
6. Report and Documentation
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
Document the outcomes and lessons learned from training sessions and gender inclusion efforts.
Maintain records of stakeholder meetings, project achievements, and training evaluations.
7. Additional Responsibilities
Collaborate with the RMNCAH Specialist on key staff capacity-building initiatives.
Carry out any other tasks assigned by project management.
