Required Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Model, and networking fundamentals.

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts.

• Familiarity with VLAN, Subnetting, Routing basics, Firewall concepts, and NAT.

• Strong learning mindset and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage):

• CCNA (Completed or Pursuing).

• Basic lab experience in Packet Tracer / GNS3 / EVE-NG.

• Internship experience in Networking or IT Support.

• Basic Linux knowledge.

Context:

• Betopia Limited is seeking a motivated and technically enthusiastic Trainee Network Engineer to join our Network & Security Engineering team. This role provides structured training and hands-on exposure in enterprise networking and advanced network security technologies.

• The candidate will work under senior engineers and gain real-world experience in Switching, Routing, Wireless Infrastructure, Next Generation Firewall (NGFW), Web Application Firewall (WAF), DDoS Protection, Load Balancing, and Network Detection & Response (NDR).

• This position is ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals who are passionate about building a career in enterprise networking and cybersecurity.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Networking (Infrastructure):

• Assist in configuration and deployment of Layer 2 & Layer 3 switching (VLAN, STP, Trunking).

• Support routing configuration (Static, OSPF, BGP – foundational level).

• Assist in Wireless Access Point & Controller deployment.

• Support LAN/WAN implementation and troubleshooting.

• Assist in IP addressing design and subnetting.

• Participate in network monitoring and performance analysis.

• Support hardware installation, rack setup, and structured cabling tasks.

2. Network Security:

• Assist in configuration and monitoring of Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW).

• Support Web Application Firewall (WAF) configuration and monitoring.

• Assist in DDoS protection deployment and alert monitoring.

• Support Load Balancer configuration (L4/L7).

• Assist in Network Detection & Response (NDR) monitoring.

• Monitor firewall logs and security alerts.

• Support VPN configuration (IPSec / SSL VPN – basic level).

• Assist in security policy creation and access control management.

• Participate in vulnerability assessments and basic security testing.
