∎ Objective of the programme: We are looking to recruit a Tourism Communication and Research Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the communication and research related to the tourism sector of Bangladesh. The person will work with UN Agency and Government Agencies to discharge his/her responsibility.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Any other related tasks as maybe required or assigned by the supervisor. Maintain regular communication with respective bodies in the planning and implementation of tourism-related activities.
∎ Support to explore funds for implementing the Tourism Master plan and tourism activities at the different destinations of Bangladesh.
∎ Support the design and implementation of communication strategy to increase the outreach and visibility of tourism activities of the team.
∎ Draft communication materials including press releases, articles, key messages, and other advocacy materials.
∎ Provide logistics support to communications, research, innovation efforts, and campaigns.
∎ Coordinate with internal and external public & private stakeholders to ensure communication support to implement Tourism Master Plan.
∎ Supporting facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing.
∎ Maintain a database of references, materials, and photos as evidence for further communication and publication use.
∎ Manage, maintain, and update tourism website regularly with quality and creative multimedia content.
∎ Support to social media management and media monitoring activities.
∎ Provide all the necessary communication support to the RID team where necessary.
∎ Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2 years of working experience in relevant national/international areas of communications.
∎ Demonstrated experience in social media management and monitoring: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram etc.
∎ Experience in handling web-based management systems is required.
∎ Experience in drafting communication materials like press releases, articles and other materials.
∎ Previous communications experience with SDGs-related, private sector-related initiatives, Islamic Finance, and matchmaking platforms covering different audiences is a distinct asset.
∎ Experience in the organization of events, conferences, etc. is an asset.
∎ The experience of working with international organizations is an asset.
∎ Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bangla & English are required.
∎ Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines is required.
∎ Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
∎ Working on a tourism-related project previously will get an advantage.
∎ Essential: Fluency in speaking and writing in Bangla and English.
