Job Responsibilities:
∎ Purpose of the assignment:
∎ IFC seeks to hire an experienced trainer to virtually deliver the technical skills component of GEAR to participating ready-made garment (RMG) factories. This will include delivering six days of technical training to female operators in remote classroom settings and conducting remote trainings/workshops with factory managers. The consultant will also be expected to maintain communications with factories and the Better Work Bangladesh team regarding trainee performance and support overall program implementation as required.
∎ The training delivery is expected to be done entirely virtually (remote) given existing Covid-19 restrictions in place. However, it may evolve to a blended delivery format (combination of virtual and in-person) or in-person depending on how the situation and associated restrictions develop over the timeline of the assignment.
∎ IFC expects the assignment to require about 100 days of work during the period August 15, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in Bangladesh RMG sector is essential; additionally, the candidate is expected to possess in-depth technical knowledge of productivity issues and clear concept about work study, work measurement and method study;
∎ Have the required IT skills to convene training sessions remotely with the ability to troubleshoot if required;
∎ Some experience of conducting assessments or surveys will be seen as an advantage;
∎ Outstanding communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to engage with mid-level factory management;
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English, both written and oral; additionally, the candidate is expected to be proficient in typing Bangla;
∎ Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be proactive, consistent, and timely with delivery under limited supervision; and ability to think strategically and independently; and
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
