Additional Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of experience in WASH projects, preferably in sanitation, faecal sludge, and solid waste management.
- Strong knowledge of technical standards, quality assurance, and reporting systems.
- Skilled in basic Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Skilled in Auto CAD software, materials estimation, contractor management, construction supervision, and quality control.
Responsibilities & Context: Job Purpose:
The Technical Officer will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation, supervision, and quality control of technical components of the Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) and related WASH interventions in the Project area. This includes overseeing construction and extension works, monitoring plant operations, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting project activities, reporting, and phase-out plan execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee construction, extension, and renovation works of FSTP, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and donor requirements.
- Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with technical guidelines.
- Supervise FSTP operations and ensure proper functioning of components as per the standard operating procedure (SOP), aligning with organisational and donor compliance.
- Track progress against project outputs and outcomes, ensuring timely and quality implementation of technical activities.
- Maintain accurate data entry in mWater and other reporting systems; ensure data integrity and timely submission.
- Prepare technical progress reports, including updates on WASH indicators and FSTP performance.
- Organise and conduct training sessions for project staff on technical aspects, including mWater data entry and plant operation.
- Provide technical guidance to youth volunteers and stakeholders for smooth implementation of project activities.
- Support in facilitating visits by different stakeholders, including national and international delegates, government officials, the private sector, etc.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, local government bodies, and relevant agencies (DPHE, LGED, DAE, etc.) to ensure coordination and compliance.
- Facilitate private sector engagement process
- Support in developing and executing phase-out plans for FSTP and related interventions, ensuring sustainability and handover readiness.
