Job Context:
∎ Helen Keller International (HKI), Action Against Hunger (ACF) and implementing partner (IP) will work in the proposed project area to ensure the vulnerable households are adequately covered while avoiding overlapping. HKI with ACF and IP will take initiative to identify gaps in livelihood recovery efforts and collaborate with other projects to minimize the gaps. At the end of the proposed project, HKI together with ACF &IP will try to explore avenues for linking the project beneficiaries to next level of development programs such as short-term economic recovery in order to support them for longer-term economic growth. Furthermore, the project will coordinate with Food Security Sector (FSS) and Cash Working Group (CWG) in Cox`s Bazar as well as government authorities on a regular basis.
∎ HKI is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions for its FFP.
∎ Job Location : Cox`s Bazar (any of the working upazilas)
∎ Reporting to : Nutrition and Gender Specialist - FFP Project
∎ Duration : The expected project period is through March 2021; start date in November/ December 2019.
∎ Scope of Work: The Technical Officer - Nutrition and Gender will work under the technical guidance and direction of the Nutrition and Gender Specialist. Main responsibilities include conducting nutrition and gender-trainings for staff and participants, overseeing the implementation of field-level nutrition and gender-interventions, addressing potential gender barriers and promoting women`s economic development. Technical Officer - Nutrition and Gender will work both individually and in team by providing inputs, guidance and recommendation on all nutrition and gender activities. This requires strong cooperation with the MEAL Team and understanding how to apply a differentiated nutrition, gender GESI approach within the various activities of the project which include Nutrition, Adolescent Health, Integrated Homestead Food Production, Income Generating Activities, Savings and Internal Lending, Disaster Risk Management, Natural Resources Management, and WASH. Furthermore, Technical Officer - Nutrition and Gender will work closely with all the relevant stakeholders of FFP project within the district including implementing partners, relevant government and non-government organizations, traditional leaders, and program participants.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical training to CFs in Essential Nutrition Actions -Essential Hygiene Actions (ENA-EHA) framework, facilitation skill
∎ Provide on-going technical guidance and support to the technical team on how effectively integrate nutrition and gender differentiated approaches into the project and more effectively address nutrition and gender issues.
∎ Train CFs to facilitate group sessions as per the various manuals for pregnant and lactating women (PLW), CFW groups and men's group
∎ Conduct regular union-level refresher trainings and facilitate learning and sharing meetings for CFs to build their knowledge and skills.
∎ Provide supportive supervision, including "on-the-job" training to CFs to continually improve the quality of program delivery and performance of the CFs.
∎ Assist with results monitoring of MCHN, WASH, and GESI-related activities as per the projects' M&E plan.
∎ Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly progress reports.
∎ Liaise/coordinate with the GoB, NGOs & all other relevant Stakeholders on a regular basis at Upazila level.
∎ Conduct frequent field visit in the project areas that include village, unions, and Upazila, tracking progress and challenges of nutrition and gender integration across all three purposes, and providing feedback accordingly.
∎ Assist the communication team to develop SBCC materials for the project
∎ Any other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Job related experience and knowledge
∎ Minimum 3 years of professional experience working on nutrition and gender equality and women empowerment issue.
∎ Minimum working proficiency in English language.
∎ Have proficiency in computer uses Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Internet Browsing.
∎ In-depth understanding of the socio-economic, political and cultural context of Cox's Bazar District.
∎ Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and to maintain effective working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
∎ Demonstrated effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
∎ Capacity to work under pressure individually and in team.
