Education:
    • Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Psychology

Education: A Master’s degree in Applied Psychology (Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Development Psychology), Psychology, or a related field is mandatory.

Experiences

• At least 5 years of professional experience providing technical support to programs.

• At least 3 years of experience in designing and delivering training programs.

• Familiarity with health-sector and MHPSS subsector policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations, particularly those relevant to the Rohingya camp context.

• Experience in implementing MHPSS programs in humanitarian contexts, with demonstrated experience working in emergency settings will be considered an added advantage.


Additional Requirements and Competencies

• Strong time management, leadership, analytical, multitasking, facilitation, communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.

• Strong adaptability, teamwork, relationship-building, and change-management skills.

• Good IT skills, with basic knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.

• Excellent skills in professional email communication and internet-based communication and information management.

• Knowledge and practical experience in using the Survey CTO mobile application will be considered an asset.

• Proven experience in development and/or humanitarian programme management, team management, and disability inclusion, preferably in development or humanitarian response contexts.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

  • The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.

  • CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD’s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.

  • The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its former Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.

  • CDD is implementing multiple humanitarian and development projects at Ukhiya and Teknaf in Cox's Bazar and BhasanChar with the support of Handicap International (HI), Humanity & Inclusion. These projects serve both Rohingya refugee and host communities and focus on disability inclusion, rehabilitation, protection, social inclusion and humanitarian assistance.

  • The selected candidate will initially be hired for a three-month probationary period. Upon successful completion of this period, his/her employment contract will be renewed on an annual basis.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance, advice, and support to relevant project staff, partners, and relevant specialists to ensure effective implementation of project activities.

  • Provide technical trainings to ensure that project activities are implemented in accordance with internal quality and technical standards.

  • Review, adapt, and develop project technical documents and tools as required, ensuring alignment with global technical standards and organisational requirements and suggest improvements as necessary.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with technical partners and stakeholders, as delegated by the Project Lead, to ensure effective coordination and implementation.

  • Identify and propose relevant research and study areas, conduct, or contribute to research as required, and oversee data collection and analysis.

  • Develop and provide technical and policy guidance to relevant team and contribute to the design, adaptation, and dissemination of relevant policies, standards, and technical approaches.

  • Ensure effective knowledge and experience capitalisation, strengthen sectoral approaches globally, and contribute to the collection and use of scientific evidence. Initiate, pilot, and/or test innovative solutions to address key challenges within the sector.

  • Contribute to technical learning and knowledge management under the guidance of the Technical Specialist or Project Manager, drawing on evidence, lessons learned, and best practices.

  • Contribute to the development of Terms of Reference (ToR) for project evaluations and provide relevant technical inputs as required.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of skills-upgrading plans for professionals within the sector and, when required, serve as a third-party assessor.

  • Contribute to the development of a local talent pool within the sector by participating in technical interviews, providing recruitment recommendations, and identifying training, mentoring, and coaching needs.

  • Communicate and contribute to relevant advocacy messages and initiatives within his/her area of responsibility.

  • Support the development and drafting of new project content to ensure the continuity, expansion, and scaling-up of projects within his/her technical area of expertise.

  • Support community members in identifying their needs and goals, developing action plans, and gaining insight into their concerns and available coping strategies.

  • Support relevant team to Identify individuals requiring specialized mental health or other services and refer to psychologists, psychiatrists, health facilities, protection services, or other appropriate service providers, as necessary.

  • Apply a holistic, person-centered approach that considers both mental and physical well-being in providing mental health and psychosocial support.

  • Accurately enter and update service-related data using the prescribed data management systems/software while required, including SurveyCTO, within the required timeframe.

  • Participate in sector and camp coordination meetings as required.

  • Regularly report to CDD management on relevant coordination, networking, and collaboration opportunities.

  • Responsibly use any data collection devices provided by the organization and maintain strict confidentiality of all collected data.

  • Prepare regular and need-based reports on services provided, types of conditions addressed, referrals, and other relevant programme activities as and when required.

  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities related to the project or programme as assigned by CDD management or the designated authority.

  • Identify professional development needs and discuss them with the Project Head to develop and implement appropriate action plans for strengthening technical knowledge, skills, and competencies.

  • Engage in self-directed learning, continuous professional development, and relevant capacity-building opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies in MHPSS and related areas.

  • Proactively seek and respond to feedback, guidance, and technical support from supervisors and colleagues to improve performance, strengthen professional competencies, and achieve agreed objectives.
