Experience:
Master’s degree in Agriculture/Nutrition/Social Science/Development Studies
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in training, capacity building, and technical advisory roles.
Proven experience working with CBOs, FPOs, and community institutions.
Strong knowledge of nutrition-sensitive agriculture and climate-resilient practices.
Demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating training programs and ToTs.
Familiarity with participatory planning approaches such as NSMP.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and report writing skills in Bangla and English.
Willingness to travel extensively to field locations.

Job Context:
Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), is implementing the multi-country initiative titled "Nutrition Smart CommUNITY (NSC): Strengthening Adaptive and Inclusive Food Systems for Improved Nutrition and Climate Resilience in South Asia." Spanning across Bangladesh, India, and Nepal, this project aims to address the interconnected challenges of food insecurity, malnutrition, and climate change vulnerability among marginalized rural communities. In Bangladesh, the project focuses on establishing "Nutrition Smart CommUNITIES" by promoting sustainable, climate-resilient agricultural practices, enhancing local food systems, and improving the nutritional status of women and children.
Job Summary:
The Technical Expert – Training is a senior technical position responsible for leading the capacity-building strategy and design training module for the Nutrition Smart CommUNITY (NSC) project. This role is central to ensuring that complex project concepts—such as climate-resilient agriculture, nutrition-sensitive micro-planning (NSMP), and inclusive food systems—are translated into high-quality, accessible training modules for diverse stakeholders. The Expert will design and develop curriculum and deliver/conduct high-level Training of Trainers (ToT) for project staff, Food and Nutrition Systems Champions, Government officials, advisors and local decision-makers, Leaders of women's groups, Leaders of farmers' associations and local facilitators. S/he will also be responsible to provide strategic oversight to the project's Learning Hubs, ensuring that they will function as sustainable platforms for knowledge exchange and peer-to-peer learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Design & Curriculum Development
Develop comprehensive training modules, manuals, and tools on:
Climate-resilient and adaptive agriculture practices
Nutrition-sensitive agriculture and NSMP approaches
Inclusive food systems (gender, youth, marginalized groups)
Institutional strengthening of CBOs and FPOs
Adapt training content to local contexts, literacy levels, and cultural practices.
Capacity Building of Stakeholders
Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) for project staff, extension agents, and local facilitators.
Deliver hands-on training to CBOs, FPOs, and community groups on:
Organizational governance and management
Market linkage and value chain development
Nutrition-sensitive micro planning (NSMP)
Build technical capacity of local stakeholders to sustain Learning Hub activities.
Nutrition Sensitive Micro Planning (NSMP)
Provide technical guidance on the development and implementation of NSMP at community and cluster levels.
Facilitate participatory planning processes integrating nutrition, agriculture, and climate resilience.
Support alignment of NSMP with local government planning systems.
Learning Hub Strengthening
Support Learning Hubs as platforms for practical training, demonstrations, and innovation.
Introduce and scale best practices and climate-smart technologies through Learning Hubs.
Promote peer learning and cross-cluster knowledge exchange.
Technical Backstopping & Quality Assurance
Provide ongoing technical support to field teams and Cluster Facilitators.
Ensure quality and consistency of training delivery across clusters.
Review and update training materials based on feedback and emerging needs.
Monitoring, Learning & Documentation
Develop training monitoring tools and assess learning outcomes.
Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned.
Contribute to knowledge products and policy briefs related to inclusive food systems and nutrition.
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with government departments (agriculture, livestock, fisheries, health), NGOs, and private sector actors.
Engage with research institutions and technical partners to integrate innovations.
Represent the project in technical forums and workshops.
