Job Context:
∎ The USAID-funded Strengthening Political Landscape (SPL) program in Bangladesh, implemented by Democracy International (DI), is designed to improve the capacity of political parties to operate effectively and democratically, improve the environment for meaningful collaboration between political parties and politically active citizen organizations, and improve democratic attitudes and reduce conflict in the political parties to help strengthen the political landscape in Bangladesh.
∎ DI is recruiting a mid-level employee to serve as a Technical Editor This is a position is for a part-time, variable schedule employee based in Dhaka.
∎ Reporting and Supervision:The Technical Editor will report to the SPL DCOP.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Technical Editor will work with the SPL team to support project reporting and communications. The Technical Editor will:
∎ Edit and format the monthly political analysis reports that detail the current political situation in Bangladesh for USAID and DFID.
∎ Edit and format project deliverables for USAID and DFID, including quarterly reports, annual reports, MEL reports, etc.
∎ Conduct stakeholder interviews, gather information, and synthesize information in articulate, compelling report formats to convey the effectiveness of SPL programming.
∎ Attend and/or follow up with attendees, SPL staff, and/or SPL sub-grantee staff regarding events. Project events.
∎ Perform other similar tasks as DI might reasonably request.
∎ Draft progress reports.
∎ Regularly produce various content types, including email and social media posts.
∎ Collaborate with other departments to create innovative content ideas.
∎ Edit, revise and rewrite as needed to produce high quality, results-based program reports with standard layouts.
∎ Participate actively in reporting on training meetings and in discussions as required, to support team and other members for results-based, high-quality, timely reporting principles.
∎ Prepare monthly or quarterly acknowledgements with partners information for their contributions to projects and programmes.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably within a U.S. Government/USAID project environment.
∎ Experience and strong skills in conducting stakeholder interviews, gathering information, and synthesizing information in an articulate, compelling report format.
∎ Excellent English language skills, particularly with report writing and written communication.
∎ Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
∎ Good interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
∎ Excellent report writing and communication skills.
∎ Strong commitment to meeting deadlines; and
∎ Proven integrity and thorough attention to details.
