Job Context:
∎ The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading international, non-profit, non-governmental organization with Headquarters in Denmark, providing relief, protection and resettlement services to refugees and displaced persons worldwide. The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world`s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, has been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC launched an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. As a key part of this, DRC opened a main office in Cox`s Bazar, and a support/liaison office in Dhaka, to carry out its operations. Danish Refugee Council, one of the world`s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a Team Leader- Finance to work at its office in Cox`s Bazar. Danish Refugee Council.

∎ Contract Length: Until 31st December 2019
∎ Duty station: Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall purpose of the role:
∎ Supervise members in team, deliver technical support and guidance to team, fulfil daily accounting tasks and assist in coordinating financial functions and services and producing relevant financial previsions and reports on a regular basis.
∎ Responsibilities including but not limited to the following:
∎ Management:
∎ Lead and manage the team (including people planning, performance, well-being and development)
∎ Ensure effective planning and quality implementation of the sector/support activities
∎ Ensure daily monitoring of team and asses the daily quality
∎ Provide technical support and inputs
∎ Transfers and payments :
∎ Ensure all payments are made timely and in accordance with existing DRC forms
∎ Ensure all payments meet requirements of National Law and engage with authorities, tax advisors or other stakeholders to ensure tax requirements are met accordingly
∎ Ensure that payment documents comply with DRC internal financial procedures and donor regulations
∎ Ensure proper transfer of funds from DRC HQ in Copenhagen to country office
∎ Accounting:
∎ Ensure all expenses enter the DRC Dynamics in time and of highest quality
∎ Ensure to update DRC Dynamics daily to reflect the actual status of existing cash count and bank balance in all currencies
∎ Ensure all vendor account are balanced and reconciled in DRC Dynamics.
∎ Ensure all bank accounts statements are reconciled
∎ Ensure proper filing system for financial documents
∎ Budget control, planning and reporting :
∎ Develop and ensure the implementation of shared cost tools
∎ Liaise with Program Managers on regular budget monitoring
∎ Prepare and use budget control tools for regular budget follow up
∎ Prepare and assist in issuing donor reports
∎ Support the development of new proposals with financial information for budgeting
∎ Monthly financial report (with all supporting documentation attached to it)
∎ DRC Dynamics ERP System
∎ Ensure that processes under supervision are handled properly via DRC Dynamics
∎ Play the role of finance functionalities focal point and super user.
∎ Ensure ERP finance functionalities are properly used by concerned staff and team has proper knowledge and access to information to use DRC Dynamics
∎ Apply reports and data analytics from ERP system to improve performance in area of concern
∎ As Team Leader the post-holder is responsible for the following:
∎ Accountable for people management of employees, usually working in the same area of work
∎ Accountable for ensuring that agreed work plans and tasks set by the next-level up Manager are implemented on time
∎ Initiating the hiring and firing of employees and conducting performance appraisals are permitted at this level but are closely overseen by the next-level manager.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management within the field of finance, accounting and audit
∎ At least 1 year working in humanitarian sector (I)NGO
∎ Proven management skills and a competence in people management
∎ Advanced computer skills in MS Word & Excel, as well as experience working with an ERP system
∎ Advanced proficiency in financial and accounting systems.
∎ Experience with tax return and audits
∎ Full professional proficiency in English and Bengali
∎ Languages: (indicate fluency level)
∎ Fluency in English.
∎ Fluency in Bangla.
