Job Context:
∎ GRAUS is going to implement an anticipated six months project named `Integrated response to COVID-19 crisis through healthcare, WASH and protection programs`` with the support of Save the Children International in Lama and Alikadom Upazilas of Bandarban Hill District. GRAUS intends to hire a competent, experienced and qualified Sr. WASH Officer for the mentioned project. The position confirmation subjected to the donor approval and availability of funding.
∎ Base Office : Lama/Alikadom
∎ Work Place : Lama and Alikadom Upazila
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for implementation of all WASH sector activities under the ''integrated response to COVID-19 crisis through healthcare, WASH and protection programs' in respective upazillas.
∎ Design, implement and supervision of rehabilitation/construction of project specified water and sanitation facilities, including development of architectural / engineering designs and BoQs,
∎ Lead Union WASH team for community level sensitization and awareness raising in regard to healthy hygiene practice for COVID 19 prevention and precaution
∎ Develop work plans in coordination with team in district and upazila of the project areas
∎ Identify gaps in the sanitation infrastructure in the project sites, recommend for appropriate corrective actions, and follow up on functionality.
∎ Coordinate the process of repair and maintenance of existing sanitation facilities at the respective health facilities and community areas
∎ Installation of hand washing stations at selected public places as per project design ensuring good maintenance and sustainable processes are put in place.
∎ Together with project coordinator and WASH Officer and GoB Officials, design and undertake training to upazila WATSAN Committee, Water User Committees taking into account existing Government training modules followed by SCI & PHD procedure.
∎ Compilation and submission of comprehensive and accurate reports periodically within the set deadlines for the PHD management and donors
∎ Manage the planned activities in coordination with GoB health department, DPHE and local partners/ communities
∎ Day to day supervision of technical staff under him/her including mentoring, coaching and appraisals.
∎ Ensure quality of product and value for money
∎ Any other duties assigned by his/her supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ At least 5 years' experience within a development organization, and at least 2 years' experience in a management position.
∎ The candidate must have knowledge in WASH program and skill of proper implementation of WASH related activities, coordination with line department and stakeholders, monitor the WASH activity and guide to WASH Officer as required by the project. He/she mush have experience technical training in implementing basic water networks, sanitation and water quality, community mobilization, Initiative, capacity to working long hours, working under pressure, ability to work in a team. Working experience with CHT local communities will be considered as suitability of the candidature.
∎ Experience in working closely with government functionaries, local government institutions, and private and non-government organizations.
∎ Ability to contribute to develop a proactive team, working collaboratively with colleagues and support as necessary
∎ Implementation and management of rehabilitations and construction of the appropriate water and sanitation facilities, including development of architectural / engineering designs/plans, BoQs, maintenance and operations
∎ Familiarity with the governance of organization and GoB, Water Districts and other water service providers
∎ Coordination with other WASH actors through the cluster system
∎ Coordination and mobilization of conflict affected communities related to WASH issues and activities
∎ Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
∎ Ability to work in unstable insecurity environments and tight schedules and to manage a complex and diverse workload.
∎ Ability to work independently and in a team.
∎ Working experience in CHT context.
∎ Age will be relaxed for experienced candidates.
Salary: Tk. 45000 (Monthly)
