Education:
∎ BSc in Engineering (Civil / Environment / Water Resources) from any recognized University; candidates with a Master's or equivalent degree will be preferred.

∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ • Minimum 03 (three) years of demonstrated working experience in engineering; candidates with experience working in the development sector, preferably in WASH, will have advantages.
∎ • For excellent academic attainment or graduation/post-graduation from abroad, the years of experience may be relaxed.
∎ • Highly potential candidates’ education & age will be flexible.
∎ • Competence in writing evidence-based, result-oriented reports.
∎ • Experience with capacity building and coaching on SWM and program designing and implementation with similar goals.
∎ • Profound Knowledge of practices at Union parishad, Paurashavas, and Upazila levels;
∎ • Experience with SWM management plans at Unions Parishad /Paurashavas level (preparing plans, operating and monitoring plans)
∎ • Profound Knowledge of sector-related policies and tools such as Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan 2009; Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100; Environment Conservation Rules 1995; Implementation of Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Fecal Sludge Management, National Action Plan Paurashavas, 2020; Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Faecal Sludge Management (Paurashavas and Rural Areas); Local Government (Paurashava and Union Parishad) Act 2009;
∎ • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide adequate support, collaborate, and coordinate across different teams from diverse backgrounds.
∎ • Experience in the preparation of project work plans and budgets.
∎ • Capable of independently designing, drawing, and estimating water and sanitation infrastructures.
∎ • Advanced Knowledge of water efficiency improvement considering IWRM, SWM, and private sector engagement with practiced technologies like rainwater harvesting, zero liquid discharge, etc.
∎ • Basic Knowledge of the environment and industrial pollution.
∎ • Excellent computer skills not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
∎ • Hands-on experience with software like CAD, GIS, etc.
∎ • Excellent presentation, communication, and report-writing skills in Bangla & English.
∎ • Strong analytical skills and capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
∎ • Extensively travel to different parts of the country.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision of solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples' centered organization, ESDO envisioned a society free from inequality and injustice, where no child would cry from hunger and no life would be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted to the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services for the poor and disadvantaged. ESDO has adopted a community-focused and people-centered approach while considering national policy and sustainable development goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 54 districts of Bangladesh, covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ In partnership with Water Aid Bangladesh, ESDO is implementing the GO4IMPACT Programme to support local democratic governance and climate-resilient public service provision in Bangladesh at Naogaon District. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.

∎ • As a member of the Technical Team, this role will take the responsibility and contribute to:
∎ • Prepare a bill of quantity (BoQ), estimation, etc., for WASH infrastructures.
∎ • Drive, achieve, and maintain agreed quality and standards while constructing WASH infrastructures to ensure sustainability.
∎ • Ensure the health and safety policy of ESDO/ Donor is adhered to during construction and support project teams on this matter.
∎ • Act as the critical focal person for all technical aspects, water quality issues, and technical monitoring of the projects under the Industrial Urban portfolio.
∎ • Identify and support the implementation of context-specific/demand-based WASH technologies for the assigned area/context.
∎ • Assess the performance of different water and sanitation technologies and pilot initiatives and recommend necessary improvements.
∎ • Document learning from various interventions/ initiatives and disseminate them jointly with the respective team.
∎ • Support/lead different research/ action research-based activity per organizational demand.
∎ • Support team in planning and reviewing program/ project plans and budgets aligned with the organization's mission, vision, values, and principles.
∎ • Develop relevant operational and technical guidelines and modules for WASH interventions for the front-line staff members, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
∎ • Develop the capacity of relevant personnel and orient them on different policies, promote best practices, operation and maintenance, etc.
∎ • Monitor progress and performance of technologies, quality, and compliances of different policies and processes and suggest onward actions.
∎ • Continuously review progress against the plan of WASH interventions through partners and identify challenges and loopholes to provide appropriate feedback and support to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the projects.
∎ • Assist MEL and the technical team in periodically verifying and validating data on the progress of projects.
∎ • Contribute to preparing periodic project reports and documents per internal requirements, donors, and other stakeholders.
∎ • Support the Technical Team in producing any technical analysis/study and report.
