Job Context:
∎ The Opportunity:
∎ Abt Associates seeks a qualified Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Team Lead for the Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity (BNA). This is a full-time position based in Dhaka and reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP).
∎ BNA contributes to improvements in nutrition outcomes of household members, with an emphasis on children under the age of five, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescents (girls and boys) in the country`s Feed the Future (FTF) zone of influence (ZOI) and the Zone of Resilience (ZOR). Three results underwrite this goal: 1) consumption of nutritious, diverse, safe, and balanced diets by households; 2) social and economic empowerment of women and social empowerment of adolescents; and 3) adoption of improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices. We integrate a strong focus on gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) across all three of these result areas. We apply a combination of Market Systems Development (MSD) and Social Behavior Change (SBC) approaches to achieve our goals.
∎ As the SBC Team Lead, you will support all three result areas of BNA. You will work closely with BNA technical experts, and source resources and expertise of BNA`s partners for Human Centered Design (HCD), creative services, and SBC implementation to support achievement of BNA`s objectives in all three result areas. You will also collaborate extensively with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to inform, measure, and communicate the achievements of BNA`s SBC interventions.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead development of BNA's SBC strategy and annual workplan, in collaboration with the project team, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure interventions follow proven SBC principles and best practices.
∎ Use data to identify innovative, sustainable, cost-effective interventions to change attitudes, perceptions, beliefs, and intentions.
∎ Identify formative research and audience analysis needs to identify target audiences, key behaviors, and motives, triggers, and barriers to behavior change; collaborate with BNA's MEL team and HCD partner to source and apply evidence to the design, implementation, and evaluation of BNA's SBC strategy.
∎ Lead development and implementation of integrated SBC interventions across three result areas.
∎ Serve as the primary liaison between BNA and its HCD, creative services, and SBC implementation partners.
∎ Collaborate with BNA's creative services and SBC implementation partners to design, develop, and implement high-quality SBC interventions (including print, audio, video, mid-media, and interpersonal communication materials and tools) that are tailored to the needs and aspirations of target audiences and take into account cultural and social norms; ensure that SBC materials and tools are pre-tested, proven effective, and used efficiently. Ensure that SBC materials are technically sound with accurate information.
∎ Provide technical guidance and support to project staff and partners on SBC principles, practices, and strategies. Build capacity of BNA staff and partners to implement high quality and effective SBC work.
∎ Coordinate with USAID, GOB, and other stakeholders to ensure that SBC interventions, material, and tools, are reviewed and approved by relevant authorities; advocate for their integration into existing health, nutrition, and WASH programs and services.
∎ Work with the MEL team to measure and document progress and impact of SBC activities; contribute to project reporting and strategic communication efforts.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 12 years of relevant experience, Master's Degree + 10 years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. + 8 years of relevant experience.
∎ Master's degree in Nutrition, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Development Communications, Media, Broadcasting, Public Health, or related field.
∎ Minimum of 8 years of experience designing and implementing social and behavior change programs to achieve nutrition, agriculture, women's empowerment, and WASH outcomes.
∎ Experience applying a range of SBC approaches, including social marketing, behavior economics, and human centered design preferred.
∎ Deep knowledge of in-country resources for SBC implementation, including consultants and organizations specializing in creative services, inter-personal communication training, strategy development, barrier analysis, etc.
∎ Experience overseeing and building capacity in SBC internally and externally.
∎ Proven ability to set priorities, multi-task, and work collaboratively across technical disciplines.
∎ Proven ability to work and manage one-self independently and efficiently.
∎ Superior written and oral communication skills.
