Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience as an Ultrasound Sonographer in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center.

  • Extensive experience performing abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecological, breast, thyroid, and small parts ultrasound examinations.

  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound anatomy, pathology, and scanning techniques.

  • Ability to recognize abnormal findings and communicate effectively with Radiologists and physicians.

  • Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Proficiency in ultrasound reporting systems, PACS, and electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with leading ultrasound systems such as GE Healthcare, Philips, Siemens, Canon (Toshiba), Samsung, Mindray, or Fujifilm.

  • Experience in Doppler and vascular ultrasound examinations.

  • Knowledge of ultrasound-guided procedures and interventions.

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior sonographers.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality patient care.



Responsibilities & Context:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Ultrasound Sonographer (Male/Female) with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in performing and assisting with diagnostic ultrasound examinations. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-quality ultrasound scans, ensuring accurate imaging, preparing preliminary findings for radiologists or physicians, and delivering excellent patient care while maintaining professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician requests and clinical protocols.

  • Conduct a wide range of ultrasound procedures, including:

    • Abdomen

    • Pelvis

    • Obstetric (Pregnancy)

    • Gynecology

    • Breast

    • Thyroid

    • Soft Tissue

    • Scrotal/Testicular

    • Prostate

    • Renal and Urinary Tract

    • Vascular (if qualified)

    • Small Parts Ultrasound

  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.

  • Verify patient identity, medical history, and examination requests before scanning.

  • Operate ultrasound equipment efficiently to obtain accurate diagnostic images.

  • Optimize imaging settings to ensure the highest image quality while minimizing examination time.

  • Identify abnormal findings and prepare preliminary observations for review by the Radiologist or referring physician.

  • Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and examination reports.

  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and routine quality checks of ultrasound equipment.

  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures during all examinations.

  • Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.

  • Assist physicians during ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, drainages, and injections when required.

  • Respond professionally to emergency imaging requests.

  • Maintain adequate supplies and ensure examination rooms remain clean and organized.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, radiation-free imaging safety standards, and healthcare regulations.

  • Participate in quality improvement programs and departmental audits.

  • Mentor and train junior sonographers and support staff when required.

  • Stay updated with the latest ultrasound technology and diagnostic imaging practices.
