Job Context:
∎ HI has been working in Bangladesh since 1997, with a focus on creating sustainable changes in terms of ensuring the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in society. HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict, and disaster throughout Bangladesh. With projects in different districts of the country, HI works not only with people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, but also with their families, their communities, and local humanitarian actors to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions, promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights, and provide sustainability in its action. As one of the key organizations in the disability sector, HI has a wide range of projects which assist to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their issues in emergency and development contexts, build capacities of local stakeholders, and reduce the impact of natural and human-made disasters. Particularly in Cox`s Bazar district, HI is providing services in rehabilitation, MH/PSS, SRH, protection and inclusive education with an inclusion mainstreaming approach to refugees and host population affected by the forcibly displaced undocumented Myanmar nationals. HI`s multi-sectoral mobile units (MU) and static approach are currently working in 15 camps located in both Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazilas and surrounding host areas providing comprehensive services in physical rehabilitation, primary health care, protection, and MH/PSS.
∎ HI is currently implementing development and humanitarian response project in Kurigram, Sitakindu, and Cox`s Bazar district through 4 project offices (Kurigram, Sitakundu, Ukhiya, and Teknaf) and 2 coordination offices( Dhaka and Cox Bazar).
∎ Operational Thematic: Livelihood, Health and Rehabilitation, Protection, Inclusion, Education and Atlas Logistic
∎ Number of staffs: Around 283 National staff and 9 international staff
∎ HI is currently looking for a Senior Technical Officer- Sexual & Reproductive Health for its Technical Unit. The Senior Technical Officer- Sexual & Reproductive Health (STO-SRH) provides specialized technical support in identifying technical support and training needs, hands-on support, and facilitating workshops and training on health topics and Sexual and reproductive health education, ensure the overall quality of SRH services, health screening, basic wound care, health promotion, and ensure necessary referrals under activities implemented by HI in Cox`s Bazar District (in refugee camps, and host communities.
∎ Job Location: Teknaf/Ukhiya under Cox`s Bazar district
∎ Line Manager: Technical Specialist - Inclusive Health & SRHR
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed-term
∎ Duration of the Contract: From as early as possible to 31 August 2022 with the possibility of an extension.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective 1: Technical support and supervision of SRH activities
∎ Ensure that the SRH team is providing individual, house-based, and group and community services, with proper follow-up (with feedbacks) of the beneficiaries.
∎ Monitor emergency SRH activities and ensure their compliance with technical guidelines and SOPs and feedback to the TS - Inclusive Health/SRHR.
∎ Provide timely feedback & technical support to the nurses (and volunteers).
∎ Identify difficulties faced by the SRH team, identify their training needs, and refer to Technical Specialist.
∎ Participate, in close collaboration with the Technical Specialist, in the design and/or update of SRH tools and processes. Help and monitor their proper implementation on the field.
∎ Participate in the recruitment of Nurses upon request.
∎ Participate to project meetings upon request.
∎ Act as focal person for coordination with other stakeholders (referrals to hospital, clinic), and ensure proper follow-up.
∎ Ensure strong coordination at the field level with external SRH service providers.
∎ Objective 2: Technical Capacity building (Provision of formal training sessions for SRH team)
∎ Assess and identify the SRH staff/nurses and volunteers' capacity and prioritize training needs as per project scope for effective implementation of health/SRH care in coordination with the Project Manager, and TS - Inclusive Health/SRHR.
∎ Draft/support TS-Inclusive Health & SRH to develop training modules/ presentations on inclusive health & SRH related issues, special focus on STDs, family planning, etc.
∎ Conduct good quality training in SRH services with a particular focus on women and adolescent girls' health. This includes sexual & reproductive health and Family planning.
∎ Ensure the staff's understanding & participation, and the good atmosphere of the sessions, according to the training methodology.
∎ Continuously assess the staff's level through on-the-job monitoring/case studies and adjust the training needs and contents accordingly.
∎ Objective 3: Provision of continuous on the job coaching for SRH staff
∎ In close collaboration with the project teams and technical specialists, plan frequent field trips/case study discussions to provide on-the-job coaching for SRH staff.
∎ As per the training needs identified, schedule appointments with the appropriate cases to do on-the-job coaching.
∎ Accompany SRH volunteers including one-to-one health education, referrals for care, break down barriers to care, and manage reproductive health cases.
∎ Provide strengths-based basic guidance and support to offer encouragement and increase motivation.
∎ Collect/document success stories, challenges & good practices related to SRH services & inclusion
∎ Conducts and supports the provision of awareness activities to community leaders about Sexual and Reproductive Health services and needs
∎ Objective 4: Planning, Reporting, Documentation, and Networking
∎ Collaborate with the SRH volunteers in improving healthcare support for vulnerable women and adolescent girls.
∎ Documenting and reporting on the outcome of the formal and on-the-job coaching.
∎ Provide inputs and feedback to the Project Manager and TS-Health to help ensure the improvement of the training.
∎ Support proper reporting as per HI and donor requirements, to ensure timely reporting on the SRH related data.
∎ Collect and document case study, lessons learned as per project needs.
∎ Coordinate with other actors in camps and relevant sectors on relevant issues.
∎ Contribute and help TS in developing tools, manuals, concept notes as and when required.
∎ Participate in internal and external coordination meetings as appropriate.
∎ Objective 5: Conduct
∎ Carrying out their duties in a manner that does not adversely affect their health, security, and safety or that of others.
∎ Cooperating and compliance with measures introduced in the interests of work health, security, and safety.
∎ Respect and promote HI's Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI's policies amongst the teams or partners.
∎ Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or others.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ Minimum 02 years experience in SRH (essential).
∎ Strong clinical/technical experience in SRH training organization and capacity building.
∎ Experience in developing and conducting training for health workers.
∎ Experience of working in NGOs.
∎ Experience of working in the Rohingya context is an advantage.
∎ Strong teamwork approach.
∎ Availability to travel to remote areas and spend time at the field level.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural team environment.
∎ Proper knowledge of monitoring, reporting, and Documentation.
∎ Computer knowledge (MS office package- English and Bangla and learning management system).
∎ Previous experience working in a remote community setting is an advantage.
∎ Have the capacity to maintain close relationships with partners, stakeholders, and clients.
∎ Good communication skills in both verbal and written Bangla and English.
∎ Knowledge of the Rohingya or Chittagonian language is a strong asset.
∎ Good planning skills.
