• Strong knowledge of Child Protection in Emergencies, psychosocial support, adolescent engagement, and community-led interventions in humanitarian settings

• In-depth understanding of mental health issues, multicultural contexts, ethics, supervision, and BRAC culture and values

• Proven ability to plan, implement, and monitor work plans with effective reporting and results-oriented planning

• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills, including effective engagement with beneficiaries

• Skilled in delivering psychosocial wellbeing sessions, life skills training, and organizational stress and anger management training

• Demonstrated presentation, facilitation, and networking skills to support community and partner collaboration

Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The position is responsible for managing psychosocial support (PSS) interventions under the HCMP, including life skills–based education and positive parenting. The role supports team planning, curriculum and TOR development, supervises adolescent-focused field activities, and provides technical support through regular field visits. Responsibilities also include Child Protection staff and volunteer capacity strengthening, development of PSS materials, conducting trainings, monitoring activities, coordination with relevant sectors and government and non-government stakeholders, and programme reports.

  • Conducting individual counseling session to the programme participants, volunteer and staff to ensure adolescent engagement interventions for the participants.

  • Facilitating training, orientation, meeting and group meeting on ‘Psychosocial support’ and ‘adolescent engagement interventions’ along with curriculum-based training for the staff and volunteer etc.

  • Developing module of PSS, LSBE, community led initiatives, awareness raising interventions and take step in contextualization of curriculum-based module including translation & documentation

  • Supporting other child protection colleagues in supportive supervision, and guidance to effectively perform the duties and achieve the objective of child protection and gender-based violence intervention which contribute a quality programme

  • Supporting and conducting different meetings and training for capacity development of the staffs as well as arrange meeting with parents, CBCPC, community leaders (Imam, and other influential person), adolescent leaders, youth ambassador groups and other stakeholders.

  • Providing Psychological First Aid (PFA) services in emergency situations and guide the team to effectively provide the support including community led initiatives intervention.

  • Establishing and continuing a good coordination and collaboration with the case management system and ensuring children, adolescent and other programme participant are received support timely.

  • Analyzing the field situation (from field visit, individual discussion with parents, staffs) to take immediate action and to assist management to take necessary initiatives.

  • Conducting focus group discussion (FGD), interview and documentation etc. and preparing report on Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS), Adolescent and youth engagement interventions in timely manner

  • Supporting the team in taking the visitors and donors from national and international agencies to visit the centre and associated activities (MPC, Adolescent Clubs, so on)

  • Conducting regular field visit and maintaining a quality implementation of the pogramme activities such as PSS support, structure sessions intervention, community intervention etc.

  • Additionally, taking responsibility of the 24/7 emergency helpline and monitoring and performing any kind of responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor regarding my responsibilities

  • Supporting in arrangement of different seminar, workshop, training, campaign and community led initiatives related to the services.

  • Ensure all child protection initiatives align with BRAC’s policies and procedures.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of programme participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
