Job Context:
∎ HI has been working in Bangladesh since 1997, with a focus on creating sustainable changes in terms of ensuring the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in society. HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict, and disaster throughout Bangladesh. With projects in different districts of the country, HI works not only with people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations, but also with their families, their communities, and local humanitarian actors in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions, promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights, and provide sustainability in its action. As one of the key organizations in the disability sector, HI has a wide range of projects which assist to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their issues in emergency and development contexts, build capacities of local stakeholders, and reduce the impact of natural and human-made disasters. Particularly in Cox`s Bazar district, HI is providing services in rehabilitation, MH/PSS, SRH, protection and inclusive education with an inclusion mainstreaming approach to refugees and host population affected by the forcibly displaced undocumented Myanmar nationals. HI`s multi-sectoral mobile units (MU) and static approach are currently working in 15 camps located in both Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazilas and surrounding host areas providing comprehensive services in physical rehabilitation, primary health care, protection, and MH/PSS.
∎ HI is currently implementing development and humanitarian response project in Kurigram, Sitakindu, and Cox`s Bazar district through 4 project offices (Kurigram, Sitakundu, Ukhiya, and Teknaf) and 2 coordination offices( Dhaka and Cox Bazar).
∎ Operational Thematic: Livelihood, Health and Rehabilitation, Protection, Inclusion, Education and Atlas Logistic
∎ Number of staffs: Around 282 National staffs and 10 international staffs
∎ HI is currently looking for a Senior Technical Officer - Education for its Inclusive Education Project funded by UNICEF.
∎ Job Location: Ukhiya under Cox`s Bazar District
∎ Line Manager: Senior Project manager/Project Manager-Inclusive Education
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed-term
∎ Duration of the Contract: As early as possible to 28 February 2022 with the possibility of extension of the project.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective-1: Training and Material Development (Inclusive Education)
∎ Design and facilitate and ensure validation (by technical referent) of teachers training on inclusive education including teaching methodology and pedagogy
∎ Provide technical guidance to teachers to address their challenges in implementing inclusive education such as classroom management, reasonable accommodations, Individual Education Plan, harmonization among students and etc.
∎ Communicate with relevant partner organizations and officials for organizing training and obtain necessary approval
∎ Internal staff capacity building on Inclusive Education
∎ Planning and development of Inclusive Teaching Learning Materials using Universal Design of Learning approach and Modules to be printed
∎ Coordinate with technical staff in rehabilitation and accessibility to ensure a comprehensive approach to support specific learning needs of children with disabilities and teachers
∎ In Coordination with the Project Manager, He or she is responsible for the availability of learning materials for the team
∎ Monitor inclusive education component activities from a technical point of view
∎ Provide on-time feedback & support to the inclusive education technical issues faced on the field (or if not possible refer it to the Project manager or technical referent))
∎ Participating in close collaboration with the Project Officer on the design or update of tools and processes according to the needs.
∎ Ensuring the implementation on the field of tools and process
∎ Ensuring the quality of learning materials purchased through a collection of feedback from beneficiaries and ensure improvement.
∎ Participating in the recruitment of field staff upon request.
∎ Proposing change, updates, and improvements of relevant education activities according to the Organization's strategy
∎ He or she is the focal person for coordination of technical support to partners at the field level
∎ Support coordination at field level with all HI team for a comprehensive approach
∎ Ensure strong coordination at the field level with external education actors
∎ Objective-2: Supervision and Coordination
∎ Identify technical weaknesses, challenges, and strengths of the team and provide concrete solutions and capacity building to address these issues
∎ Identify opportunities for possible internal and external coordination and notify the Project Manager
∎ Ensure regularly monitoring of the activities of the field teams for quality, efficiency, and appropriate response to the identified needs and report directly
∎ Support proper reporting- Assist to prepare reports as per HI and donor requirements and ensuring timely reporting on the education-related data.
∎ Collect and document case study, lessons learned as per project needs
∎ Objective-3: Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting
∎ Ensure the HI quality standards in all documentation and event reports
∎ Ensure the gathering and consolidation of the mapping of services
∎ Objective-4: External Coordination
∎ In coordination with the project manager, provide training to other external partners.
∎ Organize and take lead on monthly weekly case study for the team.
∎ Participate and enhance internal referral within the different unit in the organization
∎ Focal person to Represent HI in the Education Cluster meetings

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ At least 4-5 years work experience with 1-year proven experience in the same sector
∎ Excellent facilitation and documentation skills (designing/ facilitation of training, report, and communication) Experience in conducting/lead assessment in the Inclusive Education area
∎ Computer knowledge (MS office package- both in English and Bangla);
∎ Experience INGO experience
∎ Experience in disability and education
∎ Experience with Rohingya Refugee
∎ Able to work in emergency conditions
∎ Good analyzing skill
∎ Strong team-work approach
∎ Communication skills in verbal and written Bangla and English
∎ Knowledge of disability and development issues in Bangladesh
∎ Sensitized on issues related to child protection, protection of gender-based violence, etc.
∎ Experienced in Humanitarian Context, preferably in the field of Emergency
∎ Experience working in a multidisciplinary context
∎ Knowledge of the Chittagonian / Rohingya language is a strong asset
