∎ Summary: The Senior Technical Advisor- FP Services will be responsible for providing leadership for improving Family Planning services in the public sector along with public-private partnerships. S/he will work closely with the Technical Director/ FP Specialist and have a close collaboration with the A&Y Specialist, the Senior Capacity Building Advisor, and the MEL Specialist. In addition, s/he will ensure program activities are aligned with project objectives and expected results; and completed on time.
∎ The position is assigned to Pathfinder`s Accelerating Universal Access to Family Planning (AUAFP) project in Bangladesh, also known as Shukhi Jibon. AUAFP is a five year multi-million dollar project funded by USAID. The project aims to strengthen and expand access to quality family planning services through a collaborative health system capacity building partnership with the government of Bangladesh, specifically through a flexible implementation model led in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, including the National Institute of Population Research and Training, the Directorate General of Family Planning, and the Directorate General of Health Services.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Curriculum Development: Support the MOHFW at the national, division, and district level to develop/update national training curriculums for FP services, including adding content related to married adolescents, and coordinate national training of trainers on FP services.
∎ Mentoring & Supportive Supervision: Provide technical assistance to the MOHFW to strengthen FP provider mentorship and supportive supervision.
∎ Family Planning Services: Provide technical assistance to the MOHFW to tailor national and community health worker strategies to expand services, especially to adolescents, youth, newlyweds, and postpartum women, and their partners with FP information and services.
∎ FP related Training: Facilitate training of community health agents in healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy and effective communication and counselling around contraception and fertility for young women and their partners.
∎ Technical Assistance: Develop guide for engaging male partners of young women via small groups and household visits using existing Pathfinder resources and other partner resources. Collaborate with AY Specialist, Gender Manager, and other on digital communication platforms, integration of gender in FP services, addressing GBV, and on other SRHR related areas.
∎ Liaison with DGFP: Together with the Technical Director/ FP Specialist, and also with Project Director, serve as liaison with the operational plan units at DGFP (especially FSD, CCSDP, MNCH, and IEM).
∎ Resource Management: Maintain communication with Pathfinder US office technical advisors to build skills in FP, discuss and address challenges, and ensure that Pathfinder resources and approaches are being applied throughout the project.
∎ Reporting: Participate in project quarterly and annual review meetings as well as report writing to reflect the implementation of the project.
∎ Quality Assurance: Works with the technical team to ensure that best practices for services and service integration are well documented, evaluated and poised for scale up. Coaches and builds teams to optimize staff performance programming, target setting and project workplan and scale-up.
∎ Representative Role: Represents Pathfinder International to external organizations, working groups of any FP services and audiences at professional meetings and conferences as assigned.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of ten (10) years' relevant professional experience, preferably in Bangladesh
∎ Proven expertise in effective public, NGO and private for-profit sector FP interventions; achieving results in improving FP availability through improved training and supervision
∎ Proven ability to provide technical assistance and support to the public sector in FP
∎ Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:
∎ Country Specific Public Health System: Advanced knowledge of the Bangladesh health system.
∎ Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Advanced knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices, and services of programs, including program strategies and indicators, and the latest professional developments. Advanced skills in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development and intervention activities, preferably with USAID, WHO, or other donor organizations working in the health sector.
∎ Program Operations and Development: Advanced skills in implementing similar programs.
∎ Leadership: Advanced skills as a leader in health and health service delivery strengthening and proven ability in developing strategic plans.
∎ Program and Project Planning and Management: Advanced skills in program and project management and planning to fulfill performance objectives, including the timely implementation and reporting of donor-funded program activities.
∎ Change Leadership: Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in managing change across a broad group of stakeholders in an inclusive manner.
∎ Presentation Skills: Ability to make presentations on results and products to small and large groups.
∎ Community Relations: Advanced skills in facilitating work relationships between partners, government officials, and communities.
∎ Technical Expertise: Proven results in expanding use of FP services including developing community mobilization; successful use of FP SBCC particularly through IT and social media; demonstrated knowledge about gender and how it is linked with FP; achieving increased community mobilization and stakeholder support for adolescent/youth FP services;
∎ Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:
∎ Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
∎ Languages: Proven ability to write and speak using Bangla and English language.
∎ Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skill along with proven ability to influence others through diplomacy.
∎ Passion for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Commitment to family planning, reproductive health services, gender, maternal, child health services, and eradication of harmful traditional practices.
∎ Relationship Management: Demonstrated experience in management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills, with proven ability to function effectively with multiple counterparts in the public, NGO and private for-profit sectors;
∎ Matrix Management: Ability to thrive in a matrix organization.
∎ Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality on work related matters
