Context:

• Betopia Limited is seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior System Engineer – Server & Infrastructure to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and governance of enterprise data center and server environments.

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure solutions across server platforms, operating systems, virtualization, storage, backup, and observability systems. This role includes technical leadership, project execution, escalation handling, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Architecture & Design:

• Design High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) for enterprise server environments.

• Architect High Availability (HA), clustering, and redundancy solutions.

• Design capacity planning models for compute, storage, and virtualization.

• Lead infrastructure modernization and migration projects.

• Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and best practices.

2. Enterprise Server Platforms (Dell / HPE):

• Deploy and manage Dell & HPE rack/blade servers.

• Configure advanced RAID, firmware lifecycle management, and hardware optimization.

• Perform server health diagnostics and performance tuning.

• Coordinate directly with OEM technical support for critical incidents.

3. Operating Systems Engineering (Windows & Linux):

• Architect and manage Windows Server environments (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, File Services).

• Implement AD design, replication strategy, and security hardening.

• Administer Linux servers (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu) in enterprise environments.

• Implement OS hardening, patch automation, and compliance controls.

• Troubleshoot complex OS-level and application-related performance issues.

4. Virtualization & Hyperconverged Infrastructure:

• Architect and manage VMware vSphere / ESXi clusters.

• Design and manage Microsoft Hyper-V clusters.

• Configure HA, DRS, vMotion, Live Migration, and resource optimization.

• Lead virtualization migration and consolidation initiatives.

• Support Red Hat Virtualization environments (if applicable).

5. Enterprise Storage (Dell / HPE / NetApp):

• Design SAN/NAS architecture and storage strategies.

• Configure LUN provisioning, zoning, multipathing, and storage replication.

• Implement storage performance optimization and tiering strategies.

• Plan and execute storage expansion and migration.

6. Backup, DR & Business Continuity:

• Architect enterprise backup solutions (Dell / HPE / Veeam).

• Implement backup policies, retention strategies, and offsite replication.

• Conduct DR drill planning and execution.

• Design RPO/RTO strategies aligned with business requirements.

• Lead incident recovery operations.

7. Observability & Infrastructure Monitoring:

• Design monitoring architecture using SolarWinds and ManageEngine.

• Implement proactive monitoring, alert tuning, and SLA reporting.

• Analyze infrastructure performance metrics and optimize accordingly.

• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management.

8. Leadership & Governance:

• Provide L3 escalation support and technical decision-making.

• Mentor System Engineers and Trainee Engineers.

• Review technical documentation and configurations.

• Participate in pre-sales technical discussions and solution design.

• Ensure SLA compliance and operational excellence.

• Prepare documentation including As-Built, SOPs, and governance policies.
