Diploma or above in Technical Design, Textile Engineer or Apparel related disciplines
Good knowledge in textiles production and sourcing businesses
At least 6 years of experience gained in garment manufacturing, sourcing, or buying offices, with exposure to multiple product categories.
Strong knowledge of European, UK, Australian, and US testing and safety standards, as well as Acceptance Quality Level (AQL) standards.
Solid understanding of fabric construction, including woven, knitted, and non-woven materials, fibre and yarn characteristics (fabric structure, fluidity, ornamentation, expansion & compression), garment construction, and sewing techniques.
Proven knowledge of fit approval processes and the ability to support the development of standardized fit procedures to ensure fit consistencies across all ALDI consumer markets.
Ability to support establishment of standardized blocks and grade rules across textiles categories
Strong understanding of body and garment measurements, grading principles, and plus-size fitting requirements.
Familiarity with international sizing standards (EU, US, UK, AUS).
Good knowledge of garment and fabric care instructions.
Mature, flexible, trustworthy, and professional, with a positive and proactive attitude.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong written and spoken English.
Strong attention to detail, with effective organizational, coordination, and planning skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
Fit Quality (50%)
Responsible for sample reviews including fit, construction, and workmanship. Able to identify fit issues from live model or mannequin fittings, translate findings into pattern corrections, and drive final fit approval according to ALDI's technical specifications and safety requirements.
Drive and maintain the accuracy and completeness of technical packs to enhance product quality.
Provide technical expertise on garment construction, finishing, and workmanship to local and regional factories.
Train and communicate ALDI fit requirements and processes to suppliers, and monitor supplier performance in fit quality.
Quality Assurance (50%)
Manage quality-related activities for assigned product categories, including coordination and follow-up of product testing, inspections, factory audits/visits, and invoicing.
Collaborate with factories, Sourcing, and Buying teams to ensure orders are executed according to the agreed critical path.
Review and approve samples, artworks, certificates, and quality-related reports to ensure products meet company quality standards and legal requirements prior to shipment.
Investigate quality issues and propose practical corrective and preventive actions.
Support the development and maintenance of testing protocols for existing and new products across all consumer markets.
Conduct product risk assessments and provide technical recommendations or corrective actions to factories.
Provide regular updates to the (Senior) Quality Manager and relevant stakeholders on order status and quality issues.
Lead and develop a small team of Specialist(s) to achieve high performance and operational efficiency.
Coordinate with the Sustainability team to ensure production facilities comply with company requirements.
Conduct pre-production meetings, factory visits, and production monitoring visits, and prepare reports as required.
Proactively conduct research and connect with local and regional counterparts on the latest regulatory and corporate requirement updates
Deliver training to factories on ALDI's quality approval processes and requirements.
Handle customer complaints and enquiries as required.
Handle other ad hoc tasks assigned by the (Senior) Quality Manager.
