Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian project management and coordination, preferably in refugee or displacement contexts.

  • Proven experience working in Cox’s Bazar Rohingya response or similar humanitarian settings.

  • Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms, camp management, and donor landscape.

Skills:

  • Strong coordination, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and representation abilities.

  • Ability to work in complex, sensitive, and high-pressure environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and Bangla; knowledge of Rohingya/Chittagonian dialects is an asset.

  • Good command of MS Office and other project management tools.

Under the guidance and supervision by the Lead – Humanitarian Response & Emergency Management, the Senior Project Officer will be responsible for supporting and coordinating humanitarian interventions in the capms in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char, focusing on quality assurance of partner-implemented projects in camps. The role will maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in camps including CiCs, camp level coordination platforms in selected and strategic sectors and other humanitarian actors. The incumbent will raise visibility, representation and coordination of Helvetas to donors and key stakeholders in Camps. Moreover, the incumbent will also support networking, resource mobilization, and proposal development to strengthen the organization’s humanitarian portfolio.

The key responsibilities for this role may include the following but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

A. Coordination for project implementation & Quality Assurance in camps (40%)

  • Monitor and ensure quality implementation of existing and future projects in camp by partner NGOs in Cox’s Bazar and in Bhashan Char.

  • Conduct regular visits to camps, collect feedback, and provide guidance and recommendations to implementing partners and Helvetas management.

  • Support partners in aligning camp activities with sector standards, donor requirements, and organizational commitments and compliances.

  • Identify and report gaps, risks, and challenges to the Lead – Humanitarian Response & Emergency Management.

B. Budget Tracking and Oversight, and Resource Mobilization (20%)

  • Monitor partner`s project expenditures in coordination with the finance team to ensure alignment with approved budgets.

  • Support partners in financial planning and timely fund utilization and meeting financial compliances and Monitor budget utilization and variances with partners and flag discrepancies.

  • Assist in budget revisions and forecasting based on project needs and implementation status.

  • Track funding opportunities and share intelligence with the Lead – Humanitarian Response.

  • Provide inputs and field-level context for project concept notes and proposals.

  • Draft FD7 for NGOAB for Humanitarian Response projects and arrange/ensure related approvals from the authorities in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char.

C. Stakeholder Engagement, Representation and Networking (30%)

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with CiC offices, RRRC, UNO, UN agencies, INGOs, like-minded organizations and other relevant humanitarian coordination bodies in Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char.

  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings, cluster discussions, and working groups as assigned by the Lead-HR & EM.

  • Facilitate timely information exchange between field stakeholders and the organization’s humanitarian response team.

  • Support donor field visits and communication requests.

D. Reporting, Learning & Compliance (10%)

  • Prepare periodic reports, briefs, and updates on humanitarian interventions in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char.

  • Document good practices, lessons learned, and success stories for internal and external sharing.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, humanitarian principles, and donor requirements.

  • Any other additional and relevant assignments and tasks requested by the line manager.



Job Other Benifits:

    We offer you: A national employment contract up to 31 December 2026 with a monthly consolidated salary in the range of BDT 160,000 - 170,000/- CTC (may vary based on experience and current remuneration), along with other admissible benefits, such as Mobile Allowance, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Festival Bonus, Seniority Bonus, Medical Insurance with health and life coverage, Annual leave of 25 days, Sick leave of 15 days and excellent opportunities for professional development.
