Key Qualifications:

• At least 5+ years of experience in material development and sourcing, preferably in the luxury fashion industry

• Strong knowledge of textile engineering, fabric construction, fabric structure, dyeing, finishing and printing of textiles, relevant chemical and mechanical finishing, product design, and material properties and their manufacturing processes

• Proven ability to lead and manage material development projects from ideation to launch

• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest textiles and fabrics trends, developments, and innovations in the market

• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and excellence

• Exceptional project management and leadership skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Material Development Engineer (Fabric Technologist) to lead the development and sourcing of our innovative products. With a focus on quality and excellence, you will work with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new products and improve the performance of existing ones. As a Material Development Engineer, you will also play a critical role in ensuring that the relevant brand’s products meet high standards in terms of quality and are made from innovative and sustainable materials that align with the brand`s values and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and sourcing of innovative textiles and fabrics for the products of relevant brands

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and sourcing, to ensure the successful launch of new products

• Improve the performance of existing products by sourcing better quality materials and improving manufacturing processes

• Research and stay up-to-date with the latest textiles and fabrics, trends, developments, and innovations in the market

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers

• Ensure that all materials used in the company`s products meet quality and safety standards

• Manage material development projects from ideation to launch, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards

• Oversee the testing and evaluation of new materials and products

• Develop and maintain a material development strategy that supports the company`s overall business strategy

• Implement sustainable and ethical material sourcing practices

• Maintain documentation of material specifications and supplier information

• Provide material recommendations and insights to support product innovation.
