Job Context:
∎ The purpose of this position is to manage World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) Business Development activities.These activities will include, but not limited to: development and oversight of capture plans; oversight of live proposals; oversight and of Knowledge Management and Donor analytics; activate participation in live bids, including developing sections of proposals as necessary and appropriate; management of color team proposal review process, including solicitation of reviews from internal and external partners; leading WVB partnering for opportunities as both a prime and a sub.
∎ This position will coordinate business development activities with Support Offices (SOs) within the World Vision Partnership, and play a key role in coordinating the development of, and contributing substantively to, WVB’s Resource Mobilization strategy.
∎ Under the supervision of Senior Director for Operations and Resource Management, the position will work closely with Program Development and Quality Assurance (PDQA) team, Technical and MEAL teams, Program Field Operations, Humanitarian team etc. in order to assess the needs of poor communities/ sectors and develop appropriate programs/projects that respond to these needs in line with the priorities and programs of the different sectors.
∎ The position will ensure that appropriate systems and process is established and followed for acquisition of institutional donor funding.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
∎ Lead the development of capture plans and proposal management.
∎ Manage and implementation of capture plans, and provide oversight for same.
∎ Contribute substantively to live proposals.
∎ Coordinate Business Development activities with both internal and external partners during capture and live bid phases.
∎ Oversee development and maintenance of business development metrics and analytics.
∎ Report on business development metrics / targets to WVB leadership team on monthly basis.
∎ Lead the development of Business Development Strategy in collaboration with internal and support office (SO) partners.
∎ Coordinate with and provide all requisite reports to regional office.
∎ Provide business development training; related to capture and proposal management to BD team and internal partners.
∎ Assure that WVB maintains up to date capacity statements (capes) which are packaged in multiple formats appropriate for a variety of partners, donors etc.
∎ Oversee Knowledge Management Function, including business intelligence.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 33 years
∎ At least 3 years experience at a senior level managing and or participating in world class capture and proposal management. [ESSENTIAL]
∎ Extensive experience in capture management.
∎ Extensive experience and success with proposal management.
∎ Extensive experience with a major bilateral donors including USAID, DFID, DFAT etc.
∎ Impeccable English language skills (written and spoken).
∎ Skills in project design, budget preparation, evaluation and report writing.
∎ Skills in monitoring and development of log-frames.
∎ Proven capacity building, facilitation and training skills.
∎ Good command in English, both written and verbal.
∎ Decision making and conflict resolution skills.
∎ Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
∎ Ability to work under stressful condition and adaptive to local culture and situation.
∎ Managing and Coordinating Development/Relief Program in World Vision or similar agencies.
∎ Have the experience of dealing negotiations with the Govt. and Bi / Multi-lateral donor agencies.
∎ Experience in working with a cross-cultural environment.
∎ Must be willing and able to travel up to 30%.
∎ Will provide guidance, support, coaching and mentoring to Department / Unit Heads and ensure a culture of collaboration and communication is maintained.
