Education:
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)/MBS/M. Com in Finance, Accounting or any other relevant subjects with a specialization in Finance/Accounting.

  • Professional certification in Accounting (e.g. CA, CPA, CMA etc) will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar type of position, preferably in INGO.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in managing people and big budgets in consortium partner setup.

  • Experience working on SDC-funded projects will add value.

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and standards.

  • Proficiency in financial software and system

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good knowledge and experience in data management and report writing.

  • Good communication, facilitation, organizing, and report-writing skills.

  • Knowledge and experience in the Climate Change program would be an added advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated high-level technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and complete deliverables on time.

  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.

  • Ability to coach and mentor partners.

  • We are seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Senior Finance Manager for an anticipatory project focused on Climate change. Helvetas Bangladesh will lead the project implementation through multiple international organisations in a consortium set-up. The Senior Finance Manager will directly supervise the Senior Finance Officer and Admin Officer. Under the close supervision of the Project Director, this position will closely work with the Finance representative of the 8 consortium partners. Have a look at the detailed job description here.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Budgeting:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive financial plans and budgets for the project.

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts.

  • Identify and address potential financial risks and opportunities.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as per requirement.

  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.

  • Provide clear and concise financial information to management and stakeholders.

Fund Management:

  • Manage and track project funds.

  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Monitor and control expenditures to optimize resource utilization.

Financial Control and Risk Management:

  • Implement strong internal controls to safeguard project assets and prevent fraud and errors.

  • Conduct regular financial audits and reviews to assess financial health.

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, such as currency fluctuations and economic uncertainties.

Procurement and Contract Management:

  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers, monitoring performance and resolving disputes.

  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to optimize costs.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members in their day-to-day tasks.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
