Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Coordinator & Sector Specialist Health will be responsible for the rapid and effective design, development and management of DFID/UNOPS health related humanitarian response to meet the immediate needs of the affected population.
∎ Ensure that targeted activities comply with health national policies and international standards.
∎ Support effective coordination with other agencies working in health sector and cross sector (Nutrition, Livelihood and WSH).
∎ Deployed 100% of the time to support an existing project's WASH and health activities of the partner organisations and Health Coordinator will report to Consortium manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven ability of leading, coordinating and managing primary and reproductive health team in emergency response;
∎ Demonstrated ability to identify, recommend and adopt new or changes in humanitarian standards; and best practice approaches to ensure rapid, consistent, high quality emergency response, strategies and programmes;
∎ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with international institutions and agencies, local governments and community leaders and develop multi-stakeholder support for humanitarian priorities and advocacy initiatives;
∎ Excellent IT (Word, Outlook, Excel), analytical and problem solving and communication skills including written and oral English;
∎ Excellent organisational, management and coordination skills;
∎ Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines;
∎ Illustrated commitment to, and a good understanding of, the CHS and sphere standard values and ability to bring these alive in your work.
