• Bachelor of Law (LLB)
• Master of Law (LLM)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or Law (preferred)
• Certification or training in safeguarding/child protection (mandatory or within 6 months of appointment)

• 3 to 5 years

Experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within a school or child-centric organization
• Experience working with regulatory authorities (e.g., British Council) is an asset

Job Purpose:

To ensure the safety, wellbeing, and discipline of all students and staff by establishing a secure environment that complies with national and international safeguarding standards, and promotes proactive risk prevention. This role also supports legal compliance and coordination with relevant authorities, including the British Council and internal legal committees.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Safeguarding & Wellbeing

• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) of the school.
• Ensure early identification, intervention, and referral of any child protection concerns.
• Handle and document incidents related to bullying, abuse, or harassment with confidentiality and due process.
• Manage sexual harassment cases with sensitivity and in accordance with legal procedures.
• Provide guidance and counselling support or coordinate with specialists when necessary.

Safety & Compliance

• Liaise with the British Council and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
• Regularly inspect infrastructure including lifts, fire exits/extinguishers, staircases, and furniture to ensure safety standards are maintained.
• Ensure emergency protocols, evacuation drills, and contingency plans are implemented and reviewed periodically.

Discipline Management

• Develop and implement school-wide discipline policies in line with the school’s ethos.
• Monitor student behavior and support teachers in classroom management.
• Address serious behavioral issues, including those requiring legal action or committee review.
• Work with parents and guardians when disciplinary matters escalate.

Staff & Roster Accountability

• Support duty teachers and non-teaching staff in executing responsibilities as per the assigned duty rosters.
• Maintain transparent logs and ensure staff accountability during supervisory hours.

Legal Liaison

• Serve as the point of contact for all legal matters related to student safety and discipline.
• Coordinate with the school's legal committee on cases that require legal interpretation or intervention.
• Ensure documentation is legally sound and preserved for future reference or inquiry.
