Educational Requirements:
∎ MBBS degree with valid BMDC registration
∎ Diploma in Anesthesiology with at least 3years practical experience
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide Anesthesia as per the demand of the Surgeon required for surgery following the standard protocols
∎ Management of health care centers and harmonization of service points within the health care center for which he/she is responsible.
∎ Provide technical support to paramedics/ nurse/ midwives and counselors in relevant discipline
∎ Responsible for pre, par & postoperative patient with symptoms & complication related to anesthesia
∎ Conduct necessary training for nurses, counselors and allied health care workers - first aid training, health & safety training etc.
∎ Supervise paramedics/ nurse/ midwives and counselors
∎ Daily reporting on service coverage and drug dispensing
∎ Admit and evaluate new patients and decide on appropriate action (e.g. treatment and discharge, or admission into clinical units);
∎ Conduct thorough physical examination and gather detailed patient history;
∎ Request and administer tests, if required (e.g. blood test, x-ray);
∎ Interpret test results; Diagnose condition and prescribe treatment;
∎ Manage complicated cases;
∎ Regular follow-up of admitted patients daily to review response to treatment;
∎ Document all patient interactions using computers;
∎ Review complicated cases with senior doctors during their daily morning and evening rounds;
∎ Take action on recommendations made by senior doctors;
∎ Coordinate patient-care activities with nurses and other hospital staff.
∎ Supervise and guide other members in the team for day-to-day tasks;
∎ Support clinical research work in the hospital in order to ensure proper clinical management.
∎ Train other staff in basic rules and procedures followed at Friendship Hospital;
∎ Coach junior staff on the job on an ongoing basis;
∎ Prepare and present reports on cases, incidents, initiatives etc. during team meetings and department meetings in order to share experience(s) and learning with team members.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 28 to 45 years
∎ At least two (2) years of experience as a Medical Officer in any private or NGO clinic/ hospital is preferable
∎ Experience in service delivery is desirable
∎ CMU or DMU holders will get a preference
∎ Have a willingness to work in humanitarian response
∎ Have a willingness to work in remote and hard to reach areas of Bangladesh
Salary: Negotiable
