Educational Requirements:
∎ MSS in Economics or a closely related subject from a well-recognized University. (Degree from North America, Europe, and Australia is preferred).
∎ Extraordinary result holders (CGPA 3.5 or above, out of 4) in MSS and BSS will be given preference.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Working closely with Joint Secretary, Secretary, and BASIS EC in preparing trade-related policy responses to be sent to the Government.
∎ Exploring the scopes for Bangladesh in international trade to flourish and looking after all regional and bilateral trade agreements.
∎ Identifying new market opportunities and generating specific market-related reports.
∎ Identifying the potential international trade fairs and facilitating the participation process.
∎ Establishing, updating, maintaining, and extracting international trade relevant database, performing trend analysis.
∎ Coordinating international trade relevant studies, identification of international trade opportunities for Bangladeshi businesses, etc.
∎ Organizing FGDs on regular basis to address sub-sectorial trade challenges and opportunities.
∎ Representing BASIS in the relevant national and international webinars, seminars, etc.
∎ Drafting relevant Talking Points, Speeches, and PPTs for the President of BASIS.
∎ Writing Outcome Reports, Meeting Minutes, Meeting Summary etc., when required.
∎ When required, providing support to the Editorial Team for preparing Annual Report, Software & IT Service Catalog, Exporters Directory, and other documents.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years of experience in a recognized chamber of commerce/trade association/economic research organization/ will be given preference.
∎ Having a good understanding of trade-related issues faced by Bangladesh as well as those faced by other LDCs and developing countries.
∎ Translates technical knowledge into practical applications that contribute to country and sector strategies; e.g., able to translate technical analyses of macroeconomic, trade policy, and growth linkages into policy recommendations and cross-country lessons.
∎ Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak persuasively which would be important for presenting ideas clearly and concisely to both internally to BASIS professionals as well as when required with government officials dealing with policy.
∎ Sound analytical abilities and Adept in Microsoft office package.
∎ In-depth knowledge of data analysis and ability to work with large datasets (Expertise in data analysis tool e.g. STATA, MS Access).
