Educational Requirements:
∎ BSc (Hons) in Agriculture, MSc/MS in Plant biotechnology/Plant breeding or Higher degrees in plant biotechnology and genetic engineering

Job Context:
∎ The Research Associate will be responsible to conduct experiments and collect data in the laboratory and/or in the field for the Feed the Future Global Biotech Potato Partnership (GBPP) project. S/He will analyze data; take notes; write reports and carry out other project-related activities. S/He must be willing to travel to trial sites in different regions of the country as and when required.
∎ Contract Type: One-year fixed term with the possibility of extension.
∎ Reports To: Executive Director

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Research Associate will perform a variety of laboratory and research tasks under the specific director and supervision of the project technical experts
∎ Performs laboratory experiments utilizing specific and proscribed techniques and equipment.
∎ Performs field experiments under the direct guidance of technical experts.
∎ Collects and records all data.
∎ Process, organize, and summarize data, reporting experiment results using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet, or statistical software applications or program platforms.
∎ Assist in the design of laboratory experiments, techniques, and protocols.
∎ Performs related laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and cleaning equipment and ordering supplies.
∎ Prepares reports and assists in process bills, vouchers, coordination with vendors and suppliers for travel and logistics arrangements and conducting basic administrative works under the supervision of the project technical experts.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Applicants with previous experience in laboratory and/or field research in Plant biotechnology/Plant breeding will be considered preferentially. Experience with field research trials, trial design, crop production practices is an asset.
∎ Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to analyze and understand complex research issues.
∎ Computer literacy for data management, word processing, spreadsheet, and statistical data analysis
∎ Skill in PowerPoint presentation and internet proficiency
∎ Sufficient knowledge about accounting and NBR regulation of Bangladesh

Salary: Tk. 35000 - 40000 (Monthly)
