Job Context:
∎ Mission Statement: Under the operational supervision of the Deputy Project Manager and the Technical Adviser, the Rehabilitation Officer provides physical and functional rehabilitation services to communities living in camps and host communities.
∎ Main internal interfaces
∎ 1. Reports to Senior Project Officer
∎ 2. Under technical supervision of Technical Adviser - Rehabilitation
∎ 3. Linking with other members of the team, particularly Inclusive Education Officers

Job Responsibilities:
∎ IDENTIFICATION OF BENEFICIARIES AND LINKAGE TO SERVICES
∎ Take part with other members of the mobile unit, and volunteers, to the identification/mobilization exercises.
∎ Support the Senior Officer in mapping the existing health services in the area
∎ Communicate and link with other members of the inclusion team, regarding internal referrals (PSS, protection, accessibility), ensuring a comprehensive approach
∎ Ensure external referrals and follow-up, gathering feedback on service provided for documentation.
∎ PROVISION OF PHYSICAL AND FUNCTIONAL REHABILITATION
∎ Provide rehabilitation care according to the guidelines of HI's emergency rehabilitation interventions
∎ Undertake a rehabilitation assessment of the potential beneficiary
∎ According to the outcomes of the assessment of the beneficiaries' needs (taking into account her/his daily activities, the participation of her/his caregiver, etc....), develop an appropriate intervention and treatment plan
∎ Report your suggested intervention and treatment plan via the assessment form
∎ Inform the beneficiary and the caregiver of the importance of rehabilitation to improve physical functioning
∎ Offer rehabilitation services based on the defined objectives between the beneficiary, the caregiver and you
∎ Review the most recent information on the beneficiary's evolution before starting a treatment session and adapt your treatment or ask for technical advice from your supervisor when needed
∎ Ensure the security of the beneficiary during the rehabilitation sessions and take into account contra indications and precautions related to diverse illness, problems and medical treatments. Ask for a medical advice if needed.
∎ Provide advice and train the beneficiary and the caregivers on the basic exercises that the beneficiary can do on his/her own or with support from caregivers on the way to prevent disabilities or disabling complication.
∎ PROVISION OF ASSISTIVE DEVICES AND SPLINTS/OTHER ITEMS
∎ Identify the beneficiary's needs in terms of assistive devices and mobility aids, as per HI guidelines
∎ Ensure that the device is adapted to the beneficiary and provide clear explanations to guarantee its safe and proper use and maintenance.
∎ Ensure a proper follow-up of the use of the device
∎ FOLLOW-UP, REFERRAL, AND REPORTING
∎ Closely follow-up individual and familial cases to ensure a quality follow-up of all the beneficiaries
∎ Participate to the mobilization of beneficiaries identified for specialized service when necessary
∎ Ensure proper documentation and reporting as required by HI and TU (including but not limited to assessment and follow-up forms)
∎ Ensure the beneficiaries sign necessary document when items/devices are donated.
∎ Work in close collaboration with volunteer, ensuring quality of service
∎ Perform other tasks as requested by line management and technical unit
∎ CONDUCT
∎ Be caring, compassionate and maintain good communication with beneficiaries at all times
∎ Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice
∎ Respect beneficiaries' confidentiality.
∎ Respect and promote HI's Policies and report to your line manager any non respect of HI's policies amongst the teams or partners.
∎ Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
∎ Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers
∎ Always ask the permission to touch or to apply any treatment or mobilizations to someone.
∎ Always respect a refusal of treatment.

∎ > 2 years relevant experience
∎ Be registered with the local Association

∎ Previous NGO experience
∎ Computer knowledge (MS office package- both in English and Bangla);

∎ Knowledge of disability and development issues in Bangladesh

∎ Experienced in Humanitarian Context, preferably in the field of rehabilitation, inclusion.
∎ Experience working in multidisciplinary context
∎ Knowledge of Chittagonian / Rohingya language a strong asset
∎ Knowledge of English and/or Burmese language;
