Light of Hope is a social enterprise that runs the country’s largest after-school programme and provides moral and creative education to children aged 4–12. Founded in 2017, Light of Hope develops moral codes and nurtures children’s creativity through crafting, science, puppetry, magic, and storytelling—promoting expression and positive values.
Light of Hope operates through three wings—Kids Time, Goofi, and Teachers Time—building a strong link between children and their caregivers.
In partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and ESDO, Light of Hope is implementing the Eco-friendly Handicrafts and Toy Production within the Humanitarian–Development–Peace Nexus in Cox’s Bazar Project 2025.
The Quality Control Assistant will support the Quality Control Officer and production team in ensuring materials, in-process items, and finished goods meet required quality, safety, and eco-friendly standards. The position involves hands-on inspection work in multiple production centers, supporting artisans, maintaining QC documentation, and assisting in continuous improvement activities, with clear accountability to the Quality Control Officer and the Light of Hope team.

Job Purpose
To support consistent product quality and safety across all phases of production—materials, in-process items, and finished goods—ensuring eco-friendly toys and handicrafts meet approved specifications, child-safety norms, packaging requirements, and donor/buyer expectations.
Organizational Responsibilities
Contribute to the overall goals and objectives of Light of Hope.
Promote organizational culture, values, and ethics to team members and production artisans.
Follow all organizational policies and report any issues to line management (QC Officer, Production Manager, Training Unit).

Specific Responsibilities/ Training
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily production and ensure targets are met.
Assign work and supervise workers.
Monitor product quality and follow approved sample.
Distribute and control raw materials.
Maintain worker attendance and performance record.
Prepare daily production and batch reports and maintain stock inventory.
Coordinate with QC, Production Manager and head office.
Ensure workplace cleanliness and safety
Assist the QC Officer in translating designer specs and BOMs into QC checklists and simplified artisan-friendly guidelines.
Support pre-production (PP) meetings with sample review and documentation.
Help verify pilot and first-article samples before bulk production begins.
Incoming Quality (IQC)
Inspect incoming materials (fabric, trims, fiber-fill, labels, packaging) using provided checklists.
Identify visible defects or inconsistencies and report to QC Officer.
Assist in collecting evidence for supplier corrective actions.
In-Process Quality (IPQC)
Perform routine line inspections and quality observations at production centers.
Check stitch quality, seam strength, stuffing levels, measurements, and cleanliness as guided.
Support artisans in adopting correct production methods to prevent defects.
Help verify calibration of small tools (scales, measuring tapes, templates).
Training & Continuous Improvement (CI)
Assist QC Officer in training artisans on:
Basic quality awareness
Right-first-time techniques
Handling eco-friendly materials
Help maintain defect logs and participate in root-cause analysis sessions.
Share weekly quality reminders with centers (under guidance).
Documentation, Traceability & Reporting
Maintain daily QC records:
IQC, IPQC, FQC sheets
Rework logs
Acceptance/rejection notes
Ensure accurate batch-level traceability from incoming materials to finished goods.
Provide data inputs for weekly dashboards and audit files.
Service Duration
4 months (up to 31 March 2026) — with possibility of extension based on donor approval.
Salary: 30,000 (Consolidated)
