Responsibilities & Context:

Procurement and Sourcing:

  • Identify and source high-quality automobile parts from reputable suppliers and manufacturers.

  • Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery timelines, and reliability.

  • Issue purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of parts.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure the best value.

  • Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

  • Regularly assess vendor performance and resolve issues related to product quality or delivery delays.

  • Ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations and compliance standards.

  • Inventory Management:

  • Monitor stock levels of automobile parts to ensure inventory is maintained at optimal levels.

  • Coordinate with the warehouse and inventory teams to track parts consumption and re-order as needed.

  • Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize waste.

  • Cost Control and Budgeting:

  • Develop and adhere to the purchasing budget for automobile parts.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Prepare reports on purchasing costs and cost-saving initiatives for management review.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all parts purchased meet the required quality standards and specifications.

  • Collaborate with the quality control team to conduct inspections and verify that parts are suitable for use.

  • Handle returns and exchanges of defective parts with suppliers.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all purchase transactions, contracts, and related documents.

  • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance.

  • Assist in preparing forecasts and plans based on production or repair requirements.

  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Work closely with the production, repair, and maintenance teams to understand parts requirements.

  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure that purchased parts meet operational needs.

  • Provide support in troubleshooting parts issues and ensure timely resolution.
