Job Summary
PROTTYASHI, a social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment with an aim to ensure everyone to live with dignity and prosperity. PROTTYASHI reaches the community with basic needs and supports to save lives and facilitate all the people of the community to live with equal value and priority. PROTTYASHI is going to implement phase 3 of “Unity in Action: Cultivating Sustainable Livelihoods, Community Leadership and Social Harmony in addressing Climate Challenges in Host and Rohingya Communities” project in Rohingya camps and surrounding host communities in partnership with Oxfam in Bangladesh (OiBD) to ensure a holistic development and empowerment within these communities promoting sustainable livelihood, protection and gender equality within the targeted communities. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Psychosocial Support Officer for the Project and encourages the persons enthusiastic to contribute to the humanitarian crisis affected people in Cox’s Bazar.
Reporting
Psychosocial Support Officer will report to Project Coordinator of the project. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Psychosocial Support & Case Management
Provide individual and group Psychosocial Support (PSS) to GBV survivors and gender-diverse individuals to cope trauma, stress and daily challenges.
Identify and assess cases needing specialized support and make appropriate referrals (e.g., to health, GBV, MHPSS services).
Maintain confidentiality, dignity, and safety in all interactions.
Awareness & Capacity Building
Conduct awareness sessions on mental health, stress management, GBV, and coping strategies.
Facilitate peer-support groups, life skills sessions, and recreational activities (PSS therapy sessions) for wellbeing.
Support capacity-building of centre facilitators/social mobilizers, community volunteers and women leaders/community structures.
Community Engagement & Outreach
Engage community leaders, influencers, and families to reduce stigma around mental health and psychosocial issues.
Promote positive coping mechanisms and resilience-building within the Rohingya community.
Conduct regular community visits to identify vulnerable individuals.
Coordination & Networking
Coordinate with GBV, Protection, Health, and MHPSS actors for comprehensive service delivery.
Participate in camp-level coordination meetings (CP, GBV, MHPSS working groups).
Strengthen referral pathways and follow-up mechanisms.
Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of sessions, cases, and referrals.
Track progress of beneficiaries and prepare regular reports for supervisors and donors.
Ensure data protection and compliance with safeguarding and Do No Harm principles.
Safeguarding & Protection Mainstreaming
Uphold safeguarding standards and protection principles in all activities.
Identify and respond to risks of exploitation, abuse, or harm.
Promote inclusive approaches ensuring participation of women, adolescents, elderly, and persons with disabilities.
Contributory provident fund 2,011 BDT and bonus 4,667 BDT (Pro-Rata) regular traveling and communication
