Job Context:
∎ Job Location: Based in Cox`s Bazar, frequent travels to Kutupalong and Teknaf Refugee Camps
∎ Contract duration: Until December 2019
∎ Under direct supervision of Programme Manager, the Protection Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing of the implementation of the protection activities of Helvetas/PIN Bangladesh programs in Cox`s Bazar refugee camps and coordination of the direct implementation team. He/she ensures timely and quality delivery of the project activities- particularly Her Safety workshops- community-based health, safety and empowerment workshops, and other related activities of the specific projects focusing on Community-based Protection.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ responsible for day-to-day coordination of the project implementation team and intensive capacity building of community volunteers (ToT) and staff of the partner organization.
∎ responsible for intensive coordination and networking with relevant actors at the camp level as well Cox's Bazar level and stakeholders as well as representation of HELVETAS/PIN on selected meetings and working groups.
∎ actively contributes to program development, reporting to donors and sector working groups.
∎ supports the overall monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities, and personally monitors activities on regular basis, and provides quality reporting outputs.
∎ ensures continuous, evidence-based quality improvement of the activities
∎ oversees the financial and logistics tasks related to direct project activities and ensures processes comply with all finance and procurement SOPs, and maintains proper documentation.
∎ has a profound knowledge of up-to-date situation in the respective camp (services, focal points, actors, referral pathways, key stakeholders) and within the Rohingya Response in general
∎ responsible for overall protection mainstreaming, such as preparing and delivering trainings to non-protection actors and project partners, continuous capacity building of the team, partner organization, and advocacy on relevant platforms.
∎ ensures compliance with PIN internal procedures and policies as well as adherence to international humanitarian standards.
∎ In close coordination with the Country Director, will be Acting Program Manager when the PM is on leave
∎ Will actively contribute to information sharing and mitigation suggestion on security issues and will comply and ensure the compliance of his/her team on all security rules
Additional Requirements:
∎ Previous experience working with the refugee population in Cox's Bazar (essential)
∎ Experience working in leadership/management position (highly desired)
∎ Experience with Protection programs in particular (essential)
∎ Proficiency in English (spoken and written) (essential)
∎ Fluent in Chittagong dialect (essential)
∎ Advanced computer skills- MS Office, Outlook (essential)
∎ High level communication and interpersonal skills (essential). Including high level writing skills and able to draft reports independently.
∎ Previous experience working for NGOs in similar position (essential)
∎ Knowledge on humanitarian principals and attitude to work in Refugee Camps (essential)
∎ Flexible, Able to multitask, team-spirit but also independent thinker
∎ Official national Bangladesh ID required, Tax Identification Number (TIN) will be required upon hiring
