Position Purpose:

To facilitate and implement the 48 Days Student Farmer Innovation Project in alignment with government and WVB Program and assist in fulfillment of project goals with high level community participation and ownership. The 48 Days Student Farmer Innovation project aims to empower students as key players in sustainable food systems. It equips them with climate-smart agricultural skills to tackle crises, fostering responsibility for community food security and combating malnutrition. This initiative also enhances future employability in agriculture, creating lasting impact. The project officer is also responsible for mobilizing School students, School Management Committee (SMC), Communities and key local partners around to ensure each target school has a unique development plan. PO is responsible for project activities in a defined target area with identified target communities. 

This position serves as the primary link between World Vision (including technical specialists and sponsorship staff) and communities, Government department and local partners. The PO will mobilize school students, school teachers, school management committees and local community & identify local partners, assess and build their capacity and empower them to work together to plan and implement project activities to improve the food security & resilience building of venerable community /HHs through 48 days student farmers approach. This position is responsible for local level advocacy through coordination with key stakeholders.

The PO will work with the AP Team to established appropriate networking and advocacy for effective collaborative efforts for program sustainability while ensuring community participation.

Key Objectives of the Position: Key Objectives of the Position

  • Planning and execution of 48 days Students Farmers Innovation Project interventions in the AP project area.

  • Ensure project performance through review and impact evaluation of the project groups to achieve project goal through collaborative efforts

  • Capacity building of the students /community and community facilitators for effective performances, climate change adaptation, eco farming practices and other environmental issues

  • Financial and management policies compliance.

  • Documentation and reporting of project activities

  • Establish effective working relationship, adequate referral and networking with relevant stakeholders, GO, NGOs, private sectors and other civil society

  • Ensure improve essential nutritional knowledge of school students especially nutrient of produce vegetables

  • Ensure participatory Monitoring & Evaluation system at targeted school

  • Ensure adoption of climate smart agricultural technologies and Eco-Farming Practices

  • Ensuring planning for donor visit to the project areas

  • Ensuring development of communication materials (leaflet, posters, video clips, product overview)

Major Responsibilities:

Project Management for assigned work area:

  • Project management plan and execution in alignment with WVB policy and guidelines

  • Supervision and monitoring ensuring quality and smooth operations of the Project
