Job Context:
∎ (Based in Cox`s Bazar and Reports to the Project Manager)
∎ The contract will be until 30 June 2021 with possibility of extension
∎ Position Overview: The position is based in Cox`s Bazar and requires frequent travels to the refugee areas and also involves frequent interaction with refugee people, translators, relevant educators, authors and illustrators, and officials. The position will report directly to the Project Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Initiate and circulate call for manuscripts and sample illustrations from writers and illustrators in order to ensure that the best are published by Room to Read.
∎ Visit Rohingya refugee camps and learning centers in Cox's Bazar areas and collect information and data required for determining the type of the materials, as appropriate for the Rohingya children.
∎ Organize, conduct and assist Senior Manager, Quality Reading Material in facilitating sessions of the writers' and illustrators' workshops to produce storybooks, big books and conversation charts appropriate for Rohingya children.
∎ Coordinate with writers and illustrators for their participation in the writers' and illustrators' workshops.
∎ Coordinate with relevant translators (Bangla-English-Burmese) to ensure publishing of the storybooks and materials in the mentioned languages.
∎ Support Senior Manager, Quality Reading Material and Project Manager in developing, reviewing and finalizing manuscripts, illustrations, layouts and pre-press works and preparing final outputs of the materials.
∎ Check machine-proofs so as to ensure quality print of the storybooks and other materials, as required

Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience with NGOs & INGOs or Publishing Companies
∎ Knowledge and understanding of local publishing industry and children's literature, especially the literature for refugee children
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
∎ Managing printing and publication process
